The Donkey In the Living Room, based on a unique tradition inspired by author Sarah Cunningham’s dad, serves as the author’s response to the elf-laden holiday classic, Elf on the Shelf. This book takes the emphasis off of behaving well to “accumulate toys” and focuses on the origins of Christmas.
The new book is a collection of whimsical, first-person poems that tell each character’s story from his or her own point of view. Cunningham says she chose the stubborn old donkey as the starter story and title figure because it captured her purpose in writing.
Between now and Friday, November 16th, readers can try out the book for just 99 cents on Kindle.
