Marvel Super Heroes Will Hit North American Retailers This Fall

Disney Infinity Marvel SuperheroesDisney Interactive has confirmed that Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes will be available at North American retailers on September 23. The game will expand the Disney Infinity platform, allowing players to experience all-new Marvel play sets and characters. The popular Toy Box mode also returns with enhanced features, through which users can create their own adventures and share them online with friends.

Through September 22, consumers can pre-order the Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes Starter Pack and receive a Disney Infinity 2.0 Marvel figure as a bonus.

Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes is intended for kids ages 10 and up. All characters and power discs from last year’s release of Disney Infinity will be compatible with the Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes Toy Box.

Grammy Award-Winner Pharrell Williams to Curate NBA 2K15 Soundtrack

nba 2k152K has announced a new collaboration with Pharrell Williams to curate the soundtrack compilation for NBA 2K15, the next installment of the NBA video game simulation franchise. Pharrell’s soundtrack selections will be revealed later this summer.

NBA 2K15 is scheduled for release on October 7 in North America, and on October 10 internationally for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4, the Xbox One and Xbox 360, and Windows PC.

PGS Entertainment Secures Raft of Global Sales for Super 4

Super4PGS Entertainment is announcing a raft of global sales for Super 4, the new animated series inspired by Playmobil, which will debut in early 2015. Produced by Method Animation and Morgen Studios, and commissioned by France Télévisions, PGS represents the series in all territories and has secured broadcast licensing agreements across Europe, Asia, and North America.

Current sales include Neox Kidz (Atresmedia) in Spain, TV3 in Catalonia, Canal Panda in Portugal, RTBF in Belgium, RTS in Switzerland, RTL téléKids in Netherlands & Luxembourg, MTV3 in Finland, Canal+ in Poland; Noga in Israel; Workpoint in Thailand; and Radio-Canada in Canada.

In addition, a broadcast deal was recently reached for Super 4 with CiTV in the United Kingdom and Cartoon Network in Italy and Latin America.

Cwist Adds ThinkFun Games and Fat Brain Toys to Digital Library

CWIST LOGOcwist, Inc., a free, crowd-sourced, digital library of interactive learning challenges for kids, has entered partnerships with educational game manufacturer ThinkFun, Inc. and online retailer Fat Brain Toys.

cwist features a “wish engine” that helps kids ages 5 to 11 make the connection between the things they want and the effort it takes to get them, as they earn parent-approved rewards upon successful completion of a cwist challenge.

cwist will develop challenge content for its platform that enhances the learning experience with ThinkFun’s products and programs. cwist will also cross promote, support and create challenge content for ThinkFun’s events and programs such as Big Games and community game nights. [Read more...]

Douglas Company Releases New Halloween Plush

June26 Douglas Company 2The new Halloween plush at Douglas Company includes six new characters: Whodini Puff Black Cat, Cotton Ball Puff White Cat, Patch Puff Black and White Cat, Mouscarade Mouse, and two finger puppets, Boris Bat and Webber Spider.

Whodini Puff Black Cat is all black with dark purple accents on the insides of his ears and the insides of his wings. Cotton Ball Puff White Cat is pure white with a pink nose and bright orange on the inside of her ears and face mask. The Patch Puff Black and White Cat has an orange middle and a pumpkin leaf cap on his head, and Mouscarade Mouse wears a tutu and an orange satin bow on her ear.

These plush families will be available in specialty gift and toy stores in the U.S. and Canada this September.

Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare Is Now Available on PC

June24 plants vs zombiesPopCap Games, a division of Electronic Arts Inc., has launched Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare for PC on Origin and retailers worldwide. Players choose a side and square off in combat against plant or zombie opponents, utilizing an arsenal of outrageous weaponry. Character favorites from the franchise such as Sunflower and Chomper reprise their roles, and the game also introduces new characters such as Ice Cactus and All-Star Zombie.

Players also get to play new free game content, including the Garden Variety Pack and Zomboss Down.

Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare features four distinct game play modes, including 2 to 4 player co-op, 12 vs. 12 competitive multiplayer called Gardens & Graveyards and Team Vanquish, and eight vs. eight Gnome Bomb. Players can also use Jewel Junction, a new multiplayer map. [Read more...]

GP Flair’s New Friend Xeno Comes Out to Play

June12 xenoGP Flair has unveiled the first details of the marketing drive behind Xeno, its interactive baby monster set to launch at the end of July.

With his unique aesthetics and multifaceted personality, Xeno offers a new play experience for children ages 6 and up. Xeno has more than 10 emotions, including happy, sad, playful, hungry, and unwell, along with more than 40 eye expressions, allowing him to communicate how he is feeling. His multiple sensors respond to touch, which allows kids to tickle, feed, and play with him. Xeno also loves music and will dance and sing along to songs, but will refuse to listen to songs he does not like. He also comes preloaded with five mini-games and can even talk to his Xeno Friends.

Downloading the free app will allow kids to play additional games and explore Xeno’s world.
