Arckit Launches Kickstarter Campaign

66cf39e0-40a2-4c5d-8b9f-599003640aaeArckit launched a Kickstarter campaign for twelve new kits designed to get kids interested in architecture and urban planning.

Kids will be able to create miniature model worlds using pieces with a minimalist design, subtle colors, and graphics. Kids can develop everything from suburban neighborhoods, downtown skyscrapers, city parks, and more.

The twelve new kits include four versions of Arckit Cityscape, each with its own components inspired by iconic styles of world architecture. Older kids can also choose from Cityscape XL, Cityscape XXL, Masterplan, and Masterplan Pro.

The campaign will run through June 9 with a €30,000 (US $32,968) goal.

Lego Dimensions Launches Wave 8 Expansion Packs

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment released the latest expansion packs for Lego Dimensions. Players can now add new levels and vehicles based on The Goonies and Harry Potter to their virtual Lego experience.

Lego minifigures included in the expansion packs come with  golden Toy Tags, which unlock a Battle Arena within the Free Play Adventure World. Roblox Names Grace Francisco as VP of Developer Relations

graceGaming social platform Roblox hired Grace Francisco as its new vice president of developer relations.

Francisco will oversee Roblox’s creative community of 1.7 million developers. She will be responsible for leading development and educational programs across multiple platforms and advising creators throughout various stages of the development process.

This new hire follows Roblox’s $92 million fundraising round and the appointment of Remy Malan as vice president of customers, managing customer service and content moderation.

Nelvana Names ChizComm as Agency of Record

ChizComm Ltd. was named Agency of Record for Nelvana, including Nelvana Enterprises, the global licensing and merchandising branch of Nelvana.

Nelvana will build on ChizComm’s roster of clients including tech, food, lifestyle, toys, and kid’s entertainment categories. ChizComm will work with Nelvana on their international consumer and trade public relations and marketing efforts.

Zing Launches Spinzipz Stackable Spinners

Screen Shot 2017-05-04 at 4.23.50 PMZing launched new Spinzipz spinners, the latest in the exploding fidget toy craze. Unlike ordinary fidget spinners, Spinzipz can be stacked on top of each other and also feature LED lights that activate when spun.

Spinzipz will be sold later this month in retailers such as Amazon, Target, Toys “R” Us, and Walmart. Zing previously released another iteration of fidget toys—Thumb Chucks—earlier this year.

WIT Introduces New Board and Advisory Members

LOGO1 copyWomen in Toys, Licensing & Entertainment (WIT) added two new members to its board of directors. Gena Lavallee, senior buyer at Toys “R “Us, and Brandi Pinsker, founder and CEO of Project Genius, were recently appointed to the board. Maura Regan, executive vice president at LIMA Licensing, was also appointed to WIT’s advisory board.

WIT also welcomed chairs in its Puerto Rico and France divisions. Tree House Kids vice president Johanna López-Falero was appointed to Puerto Rico, while 123 Conseil Director Christine Pagini and Bandai Country Manager Mathilde Dezalys were appointed in France.

eOne Signs Additional Partners for Peppa Pig Licensing Program in North America

Nintendo to Launch New Nintendo 2DS XL

unnamedNintendo will release its newest addition to the Nintendo 3DS line, the New Nintendo 2DS XL, on July 28. It offers pricing and features that fit between the Nintendo 2DS and Nintendo 3DS XL systems.

The new portable system only displays games in 2-D, unlike some if its predecessors that use 3-D functionality. It offers features that are compatible with the New Nintendo 3DS XL system, including amiibo compatibility. New games such as Hey! PIKMIN and Miitopia will launch on the same day.

The system uses the same size screens that are on the New 3DS XL and comes in a lighter weight. The New 2DS XL can play any previous 3DS game.

School Zone’s Charlie & Company is Now Available on Oznoz

C&C-Logo_RGB_300dpi_Fire_StationSchool Zone partnered with Oznoz, a video-on-demand children’s platform that features programming for bilingual kids, to digitally distribute the preschool series Charlie & Company. The show will now be accessible through Oznoz to all viewers across the U.S. and Canada.

Charlie & Company an educational live-action/animated show that tells the story of a Golden Retriever named Charlie who joins with his friends to teach young viewers fun lessons.
