Bulldog Licensing isn’t monkeying around with its latest licensing deal.

On behalf of NFIP Holdings, LLC, the domestic and international licensing agency was recently appointed to represent the Bored of Directors, the premier Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) Non-Fungible Token (NFT) Collective, in the United Kingdom and Ireland. The first licenses inked for the brand include clothing specialist Poetic Brands and consumer electronic product supplier Ecell Global.

Both licensees will use imagery that’s both original and inspired by the 12 BAYC NFTs that comprise the collective, a grouping of owners of animated blue-chip ape NFTs. More than just cartoons, these animations are unique, collectible artworks digitally certified as the property of one paying owner per illustration.

Poetic Brands will produce a line of kid and adult apparel — day- and nightwear — figurines, mugs, stationery, and key chains. The designs will specifically feature the apes that make up the Bored of Directors collective. On the tech side, Ecell Global will develop a range of phone, tablet, laptop, and game console cases and accessories, available this fall.

Bulldog is one of seven international subagents for the Bored Ape NFT collective. “We like to think that our success with diverse, distinctive, and highly original properties was a major factor in this appointment,” says Bulldog Licensing Group Managing Director Rob Corney. “We certainly see very strong opportunities for the Bored of Directors across multiple categories.”

The licensing agency plans to target many categories for this unique brand, taking advantage of a full style guide featuring food, beverages, beer and spirits, interactive, gaming, publishing, toys, and stationery.
