Painting Lulu Signs Licensing Agreement with Mattel

Painting Lulu logoPainting Lulu has reached a multi-year licensing agreement with Mattel that will bring the Barbie and Hot Wheels brands to the physical and digital worlds of Painting Lulu in time for the back-to-school and holiday seasons. Painting Lulu is a paper-to-digital coloring set in which kids color in the Painting Lulu coloring book with regular crayons, and then scan the page using the Painting Lulu app on any smart device, making the coloring page instantly appear. Using the Painting Lulu Digital Crayon, kids can enhance and correct their coloring with the many tools and colors available.

Build-A-Bear Introduces The Cinderella Bear

CinderellaBearBuild-A-Bear Workshop and Disney have introduced The Cinderella Bear, the first in a series of limited edition collectible bears.

The Cinderella Bear is the first plush princess of Build-A-Bear’s new Disney Princess Limited Edition Bear Collection. It features deluxe accessories including a ball gown, princess crown, and glass slipper shoes. The Cinderella Bear also plays the song, “A Dream Is a Wish.”

There are only a limited amount of Cinderella Bears, which will be available online and in stores throughout the month of April. Build-A-Bear will be releasing additional limited edition Disney Princess Bears in the coming months.

Toy State Agrees to Partnership with WWE

TS15_4C_LOGOToy State has entered into a licensing agreement with WWE. The deal includes products developed for the R/C vehicle category for the North American market, the first of which will be in stores later this year.  This agreement marks Toy State’s first licensing agreement under the Nikko brand since its acquisition of the company last year.

“There are few brands with as loyal and passionate a fan base as the WWE,” says Andy Friess, Toy State president. “The personality of the brand is perfectly aligned with the attitude and innovation of our toys, and we can’t wait for WWE fans to see our products when they hit the shelves.”

Toy State recently reached a nine-race agreement to be the primary sponsor of Tommy Baldwin Racing’s No. 7 car on the NASCAR Sprint Cup Circuit.

Buffalo Games to Expand National Geographic Channel’s Brain Games

BrainGamesBuffalo Games will develop adult and family board games and card games based on the National Geographic Channel series, Brain Games. The Joester Loria Group served as the exclusive licensing agency behind the deal.

The initial product offering will require that players complete a series of challenges and experiments intended to test all aspects of their brain. The five different categories of questions will include mind vs. body, illusions, language, logic, and head-to-head challenges. The game will launch at key specialty retailers this holiday season and expand to mid-tier and mass accounts next spring.

Funko Takes Star Wars Pop! Out of the Vault

Funko.GreedoIn anticipation of the new movie, Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens, Funko is will be re-releasing previously vaulted Star Wars Pop! until the film arrives in theaters on December 18. The re-released Pop! will come in special edition packaging that distinguishes them from the original items.

Available in stores this April, Greedo is the third Pop! to make its return and will be limited in its run.
