Toy Insider Attracts Thousands at NYC Woman’s Day Event

The Toy Insider was on hand for Woman’s Day’s Make It A Woman’s Day event at New York City’s busy Grand Central Station on October 5 to preview the hottest toys of the holiday season. Toy Insider Mom Laurie Schacht spent the day demonstrating toys for various age ranges. Thousands of event attendees walked away with handfuls of toy giveaways and a copy of the The Toy Insider gift guide, along with special offers and coupons. One lucky entrant in The Toy Insider’s sweepstakes received $500 worth of hot holiday toys.  The event celebrated Woman’s Day’s 75th anniversary. Schacht is contributing toy editor for Woman’s Day magazine. The Toy Insider also appears in the November issue of Woman’s Day.

TIA Hosts Back-to-School Event for Kindergartners in New York City

The Toy Industry Foundation and partner My Stuff Bags Foundation delivered 50 “My Stuff” duffel bags to two incoming classes of kindergarten students at Mott Haven Academy in the Bronx, Ny., on Sept. 13. The bags were filled with homemade blankets, school supplies, stuffed animals, toys, and toiletries. Mott Haven is the nation’s only public charter school for at-risk students in foster care or the child welfare system.

Eco-Friendly The MU Releases Limited Edition Story Board Prints


The MU Story Board prints offer a glimpse into the Microcosmic Universe, illustrated and accompanied by a quirky comic strip story. These Limited Edition prints contain original artwork and stories from The MU and will spark the imagination of any little explorer.

Ubisoft’s Dance Nights Event in NYC Showcases Hit Video Games

On August 22, Ubisoft hosted Dance Nights at the Empire Hotel’s rooftop. The event highlighted the company’s Just Dance titles, including Just Dance Disney Party and Just Dance 4, and Hip Hop Dance Experience. Jakks Pacific Launches the Winx Club Doll Line

New LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes to Save the Day

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and TT Games are partnering to create LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes. The game is now available in North America for Xbox 360, Playstation 3, the Wii, Windows PC, Nintendo DS/Nintendo 3DS handheld systems, and PlayStation Vita handheld system. The video game is a sequel to LEGO Batman: the Videogame.

In LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes, gamers team up with Batman, Robin, and other classic superheroes such as Superman, Wonderwoman, and the Flash. Players embrace the roles of the Caped Crusader, Boy Wonder, and others to go against Lex Luthor and The Joker.

LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes was designed for ages 10 and up.

One Direction Visits Hasbro at Licensing Expo

Baby Aspen Launches New Line of Clothing, Accessories

Baby Aspen, a manufacturer of boutique baby gifts, has a new line of baby clothing and accessories that will begin showcasing late this summer.

The collection pictured features a firefighter layette complete with black suspenders, yellow boots, and a firefighter hat.  The Sock Safari set features four pairs of animal printed socks.

The collection also includes bloomers, a terry robe, and plush stuffed animals.

Photos: Worms Keyring Plush Collection Premieres

AT New Media and Team 17 have launched the Worms Keyring Plush collection from IGS, based on the turn-based strategy video game franchise.

The new range, licensed by AT New Media and Worms creator Team 17, features a detailed series of plush in an initial line of four different characters (Original Worm, Army Worm, Pirate Worm, and the Super Sheep). Products are also available in multiple traditional collectible plush sizes. The new range adds to the Worms lineup of apparel, squeezies, mugs, figurines, collectibles, and more. New partners are currently being sought for multiple product categories.
