Cra-Z-Art acquired Lafayette Puzzle Factory based in Lafayette, Ind. The deal gives the company exposure in a growing toy segment, as puzzles were one of the fastest growing categories last year with an increase of 10.8 percent, according to the NPD Group.
Lafayette specializes in artful design and marketing of various size puzzles, ranging from 6 to 2,000 pieces. The company was established in 2008 and has seen double-digit sales increases over the last few years.

Puzzles are also an increasingly vibrant and growing area and we hope to continue to build on that,” says Cra-Z-Art Chairman Lawrence Rosen.
Lafayette puzzles can be found globally in retailers such as Target, Wal-Mart, and Hobby Lobby.
