After years of dormancy, the trading card market is back in a big way and Diamond Comic Distributors Inc. is launching a new program to aid retailers in getting in on the action.

Card Culture is a retailer program geared toward the distribution of non-sport, collectible trading cards from leading manufacturers. Diamond says that its program is anchored by access to exclusive, licensed offerings for member stores, beginning with a Star Wars Day release from The Topps Co. inspired by Star Wars: The Mandalorian.

“We see tremendous growth with non-sport trading cards,” says Chris Powell, chief sales & service officer for Diamond Comic Distributors. “The exclusive, limited edition Mandalorian content Topps is developing for member stores is particularly exciting and is really the icing on the cake. Topps is the industry leader in trading cards and this partnership will give our customers access to licensed content otherwise unavailable. It’s exciting for us, for our customers, and for the collector.”

Topps will offer an exclusive, 11-card limited edition Mandalorian promo set that fans can only find at Card Culture member stores. Card No. 1 will be available on May 4.
