Last Friday, Disney Magical World launched for the Nintendo 3DS system. Players create a personalized avatar and customized dream life, and then embark on a 3D fantasy adventure across a main central plaza, as well as four surrounding worlds inspired by Alice in Wonderland, Cinderella, Aladdin, and Winnie the Pooh.
Along with interacting with iconic Disney characters, players can run a café to earn in-game coins, set off on ghost-hunting quests, and even visit friends’ towns via the StreetPass feature. Developed by Bandai Namco Studio Inc., Disney Magical World offers various opportunities for creativity and customization: With more than 1,000 items, players can hone design skills to create personalized Disney-themed outfits, accessories, and furniture. Budding green thumbs can plant and harvest crops in the Hundred Acre Wood, and aspiring restaurateurs can design a café from its décor to its menu.
By scanning Disney Magical World-specific AR Cards—which will be distributed online, in stores and at special events—with the Nintendo 3DS camera, players can unlock new clothes, accessories, and furniture items. In addition, players can connect locally or through StreetPass to scope out each others’ customized avatars, towns, and cafés.
Players who visit a Nintendo Zone location between April 18 and August 7 will be able to download free exclusive items, most of which are themed to Pinocchio. New items will be available every two weeks.
