The way that toddlers learn is about to get an upgrade.

From DMAI, Inc., a leading developer of artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled education solutions, comes the Animal Island Learning Adventure (AILA) Sit & Play — an intelligent monitor and edutainment system geared toward families with toddlers. The all-in-one tablet and base comes pre-loaded with ad-free content focusing on early preschool learning skills, STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, mathematics), social-emotional learning (SEL), and 21st Century skills.

“Since my career as a product designer for LeapFrog, we’ve seen lots of digital education content from all over the world on open platforms,” says Tom Mott, creative director, DMAI. “Parents are overwhelmed sometimes because they really don’t have the time to research and curate the content for their young children. Animal Island Learning Adventure is an original series of preschool content focusing on the whole child. The segments integrate a wide range of preschool skills from numbers and letters to creativity, friendship skills, and understanding emotions. Animal Island Learning Adventure gives parents comfort while giving children a rich, kid-attuned experience.”

AILA Sit & Play is powered by cognitive AI that has the capacity to adapt its curriculum to suit each child’s level of engagement. Kids can learn at their own pace as they develop communication and collaboration skills with the characters on Animal Island. Parents and caretakers can track the lesson progress and screen time using the AILA companion app. Additionally, the Sit & Play functions as a phone-based monitor using the display’s onboard camera.

AILA Sit & Play will be available for pre-order in the United States starting Dec. 19.

DMAI is celebrating the launch with an open search for a “fun and bubbly baby and their family” to star in the company’s upcoming product commercial. The America’s Got Baby contest is underway through Dec. 18. Visit the AILA website for full details.
