This year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) is the latest industry event to be canceled due to concerns related to COVID-19.
According to a statement posted on the E3 site, the video game trade show — originally scheduled for June 9-11 — will not be rescheduled, and the Entertainment Software Association team will reach out to exhibitors and attendees directly with information about full refunds.
The organization is also exploring options for hosting an online showcase, which would share industry news and announcements that exhibitors had planned for the convention, this June. Updates for this online event will come from e3expo.com.
Next year’s E3 is scheduled to go on as planned.
Other events canceled or postponed due to the virus include Emerald City Comic Con and South by Southwest.
