Cra-Z-Art Enters Licensing Deal for Nickelodeon Slime

Cra-Z-Art announced a strategic licensing agreement with Nickelodeon to market and distribute Slime kits in the U.S. The kits, which will be branded Nickelodeon Slime, will include the ingredients needed for kids to make their own version of the network's iconic green goo.
 
Available this March, Slime will also come in a variety of colors and textures, including glitter, neon, and glow in the dark. Cra-Z-Art already produces components of Slime, including white and clear glue, in the U.S.
 
Nickelodeon Slime will be manufactured in the U.S. and is expected to be available at major retailers prior to the Easter holiday.

Toy Fair Exhibitors Donate Record Number of Toys & Games

Following the 114th North American International Toy Fair, exhibiting toy companies donated a record-breaking number of nearly 55,000 new toys to the Toy Industry Foundation’s (TIF) Toy Bank, according to the Toy Industry Association. Read more…

Jakks Pacific Renews Licensing Agreement with DCPI in China

 
Jakks Pacific Inc. renewed its multi-year licensing agreement with Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media (DCPI) in China for merchandise rights for more than 50 entertainment properties.
 
The agreement includes Disney Princess and Disney Frozen for the large doll category, plus new entertainment properties including Disney’s Moana and Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. The deal also covers dress-up, role-play, costumes, and masks and accessories, as well as properties for Disney Tsum Tsum collectibles, action figures, ride-ons, and wagons.

Lego Named World's Most Valuable Toy Brand

According to Brand Finance, Lego is the world's most valuable toy brand, valued at $7.6 billion, over seven times that of second-placed Bandai Namco. Lego is also the industry's strongest brand across any industry category, according to Brand Finance's Global 500 report. Read more…

WBIE, TT Games, and The Lego Group Launch Lego Worlds

Lego Worlds, a galaxy of imaginative worlds made of digital Lego bricks where players can explore, discover and create together, is now available for PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system, Xbox One, and STEAM. Developed by TT Games and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, Lego Worlds will be available for Nintendo Switch later this year. Read more…

Spielwarenmesse 2017 Sets Exhibitor Record

The 2017 Spielwarenmesse set a new exhibitor record of 2,871 companies showing 100,000 new products at the show. There were 73,297 visitors from all around the world, an increase from 70,714 attendees from last year.
 
For the first time, Spielwarenmesse brought together innovations from the technology category in a Tech2Play activity area. Manufacturers showcased more than 45 products, divided into five categories of robot toys, electronic pets, R/C drones, virtual play, and 3-D printing. Visitors were able to test out the products on display.

Funko's Disney Treasures Subscription Service Now Available

Consumers can now subscribe to Funko's newest subscription box service, Disney Treasures. The officially licensed Disney Treasures subscription box is the latest box among Funko’s additional subscription offerings from Marvel, Star Wars, and DC Comics, and will focus on delivering exclusive Disney Collectibles directly to collectors every other month. UN Women's HeForShe Initiative Teams Up with Boy Story

HeForShe, the United Nations (UN) Women’s global solidarity movement for gender equality has teamed up with Boy Story to launch two special edition action dolls.
 
The action dolls promotes the notion that both boys and girls should have the same opportunity to bond with dolls, and that all kids, regardless of their gender, need to learn nurturing, emotional intelligence, and empathy.
 
The special edition action dolls are part of the HeForShe Equality Line, a cause marketing initiative between HeForShe and ethical brands. The dolls are available now at www.boystory.com, and proceeds raised will go towards UN Women’s programmatic work on women and girl’s empowerment globally.
