Moose Games to Launch New Fidget Game

Moose Games, an extension of Moose Toys, is set to launch Flipside, a new game to keep with the fidget toys trend.
 
Flipslide is a handheld electronic pattern and color memorization game. The twist and slide feature makes it so players can compete against themselves and each other. Players must flip, slide, and match the colored cubes with corresponding lights to win.
 
The game includes multiple modes, such as Speed Mode, Level Mode, Memory Mode, and Multiplayer Mode. It will be available at U.S. retailers nationwide in August.

WBIE to Release Five Lego Dimensions Expansion Packs

Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment (WBIE) is set to release five new expansion packs for Lego Dimensions, available Sept. 12. The Team and Fun Packs are based on Cartoon Network’s animated series Teen Titans Go! and The Powerpuff Girls, and fans can also purchase the Beetlejuice Fun Pack. Read more…

Surprizamals Launches Design Contest to Celebrate Series 4 Release

Beverly Hills Teddy Bear Co. launched a Design Your Own Surprizamal contest to celebrate the release of Surprizamals Series 4.
 
Participants can now design the next character in the plush series. The grand prize winner will have his or her design become part of the Surprizamal family, and the top three submissions will win the entire Series 6 collection. The winning design will be incorporated into the upcoming series launching at the beginning of next year as the limited edition Surprizamal. Read more…

Animal Jam—Play Wild! Named Best App for Kids

WildWorks' Animal Jam—Play Wild! was named "Best App for Kids" at the Google Play Awards at Google I/O 2017, which highlighted the year's best app and games across 12 categories. With more than 85 billion apps and games downloaded on Google Play over the past year, Animal Jam was chosen from the five nominated kid-focused apps for its family-friendly design that encourages creativity, exploration, and education for kids. ChiTAG Announces Keynote Speakers

The Chicago Toy & Game Group (ChiTAG) announced its first keynote speakers for its Inventor and Innovation Conferences. Speakers so far include Richard Barry, EVP, global chief merchandising officer at Toys "R" Us; Rich Mazel, senior director global product acquisition at Hasbro; and Gary Swisher, SVP of inventor relations and head of gaming at Mattel.

Ninth Annual HOPE Week Brings Toys, Games to Pediatric Cancer Patients

The Toy Industry Foundation (TIF) delivered new toys, games, and costumes to local pediatric cancer patients and their families honored by the New York Yankees HOPE Week. The ninth annual HOPE week took place May 22 to 26.
 
During the week, TIF distributed the toys and other items to sick children. One of those children was an 11-year-old boy from the Dominican Republic, who was brought to the U.S. after he was diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia. Companies that contributed donations were Cardinal Games, Epoch Everlasting Play, and Rubie's Costume Co.
 
A celebration for the kids and their families was held at Yankee Stadium, including special festivities in a Yankees Party Suite.

Colorific to Launch Products in North America

Australian global developer and kids’ products marketer Colorific will bring their toy brands and activity kits to North America.
 
Colorific's products include activity kits, youth electronics, vehicles, preschool products, and other items. The company entered a partnership with Perpetual Play Group Ltd and has engaged ChizComm Ltd. to be its agency of record.
 
ChizComm Ltd. will spearhead the marketing efforts surrounding the launch, and Colorific products will make their debut in North America this fall.

Donna MacNeil Appointed Vice President of Marketing at ChizComm

Donna MacNeil joins the ChizComm Ltd. team as its new vice president of marketing, effective immediately.
 
MacNeil has experience in publishing, toys, and entertainment, and will add new executive leadership to the ChizComm team. Previously she worked at marblemedia, a company joining ChizComm's roster of entertainment clients.
 
While at marblemedia, MacNeil oversaw marketing and development strategies for television and digital media properties. She worked with companies such as Disney, Corus Entertainment, TVO, and The Jim Henson Co.
 
She has also previously worked as the senior director communications and promotional marketing for Spin Master.

SPE's Consumer Product Division Establishes First China-Based Licensing Arm

In a first for the studio, Sony Pictures Entertainment's (SPE) consumer products division is establishing a Shanghai-based licensing office with Sabrina Gu leading direct deals in the territory as director of consumer products, China. The program furthers SPE's commitment to bolster its presence in international territories.
 
Gu will continue to dual-report to Joseph Liao, chief marketing officer Beijing, and Jamie Stevens, EVP worldwide consumer products. Gu will expand SPE's licensing opportunities in China and lead relationships with business partners in the territory.
 
Gu has been in the licensing industry for nearly 15 years. She started at Disney in 2004, and was at the forefront of the licensing business' emergence in China. She previously worked at Nike and Mattel Asia Pacific.
