The Toy Insider Hosts Holiday Toy Preview at Sweet Suite Event

The Toy Insider will host the eighth annual Sweet Suite event on Wednesday, July 12 at Pier Sixty in New York City. The event will welcome more than 250 digital influencers, more than 100 members of traditional media, and more than 80 toy companies to meet and mingle in an exciting party atmosphere.
Attendees will get a preview of the top trends and soon-to-be sold out toys for back-to-school and the holiday season, with plenty of play opportunities for the hottest toys.
Please note that due to the event, there will be no Toy Report next week. Toy Report will return on July 20.

Rubie’s Costume Co. Acquires BuySeasons

Rubie’s Costume Co. Inc. acquired BuySeasons Inc., which is located in New Berlin, Wisconsin. The new acquisition will offer customers third-party logistic facilities to help fulfill costume and party needs.
“BuySeasons will now allow Rubie's to offer the leading fulfillment operation to our wholesale customers,” says Howard J. Beige, executive vice president of Rubie’s. “We are extremely pleased to finally be able to offer a state-of-the-art fulfillment solution for our customers.”

Hasbro Adds Panels, Meet & Greets, and More at First-Ever HASCON FANmily Event

Hasbro unveiled additional programming details for its first-ever HASCON FANmily Event happening September 8 to 10 at the Rhode Island Convention Center and Dunkin' Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island.
James Gunn, writer and director of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1 and 2 and musician Stan Bush are joining the lineup, including appearances by Dude Perfect; Stan Lee of Marvel Comics; Lorenzo Di Bonaventura, producer of all Transformers films; Peter Cullen and Frank Welker, original Transformers voice talent; Andrea Libman and Cathy Weseluck, voice talent of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and My Little Pony: The Movie; and "Chewbacca Mom," Candace Payne. Lightseekers Now Available at Toys "R" Us

Toys "R" Us is the first brick-and-mortar retailer to sell TOMY International's Lightseekers action figures, trading cards, accessories, and more.
Lightseekers is an action-adventure role-playing game from PlayFusion that integrates video games, smart action figures, artificial intelligence, augmented reality, trading cards, and more. TOMY is the master toy licensee for the line and is manufacturing, distributing, and marketing all of the toys. Read more…

Ganz Introduces Scrumchums

Ganz launches Scrumchums, mini collectible food character plush for kids to mix, match, and collect.
Series One features six unboxed characters and 18 different hidden characters. There will also be blind bag containers shaped in a lunch bag with one of the 18 common, rare, or ultra-rate Scrumchums available. Each character, with names such as Crackle Egg, Stax Pancakes, and Bessie Milk, will have a bio.
Scrumchums will be on display at AmericasMart and will begin shipping this fall.

Funnybone Toys Merges with FoxMind Toys and Games

Funnybone Toys merged with Canadian toy and game maker FoxMind Toys and Games. Both companies' product lines will continue, offering retailers a broader selection of like-minded games and an easier way to reach a free shipping threshold.
In the merger, Funnybone Toys Founder and President Julien Sharp will join FoxMind to manage U.S. sales with Phil Hamelin, FoxMind's director of sales and marketing.

ICTI Care Rolls Out Online Auditor Assessment Tool

Hijinx, Chirp Partner for Sound Technology in Beat Bugs Toys

Hijinx entered a multi-year partnership with Chirp to create toys that interact with content on any device.
The company will use Hijinx Alive, powered by Chirp's proprietary technology, for the first time in the upcoming Beat Bugs interactive toys. These official Beat Bugs toys will interact and sing along with the TV show and each other, and will be available at Target in the U.S. Beat Bugs episodes stream on Netflix, which explore the narrative of songs made famous by The Beatles in a child-friendly fashion.

Spielwarenmesse eG Moves to New Office

Spielwarenmesse eG is relocating at a new office space beginning on July 24. The fair organizer and marketing services provider for the toy and stationery industries will move to the former premises of Em-Eukal’s sweet factory in the Westpark Business Park in Nuremberg-West. The different divisions of Spielwarenmesse eG, including the Management Board, Fair Management, Marketing, Press & Communications, IT, Finance, and the subsidiary Die Roten Reiter GmbH, will all be in the new space.
The new address is Herderstraße 7, 90427 Nuremberg, Germany. All current email addresses, telephone, and fax numbers will remain unchanged.
