JCPenney Adds Toy Shops in All Locations

JCPenney is opening toy shops in all of its brick-and-mortar locations with an expanded assortment available at The new toy shops are part of JCPenney's expansion of new merchandise categories.
Adjacent to the Disney Collection inside JCPenney, the shops will feature a selection of toys including dolls, action figures, racing cards, board games, and more from Hasbro, Mattel, Playmobil, and more. The store doubled its online assortment of toys over the past year with plans to expand more by the holiday shopping season.

Jakks Pacific Signs Exclusive Licensing Deal with Chicco

Jakks Pacific Inc. signed a multi-year licensing agreement with Chicco for the rights to exclusively manufacture, market, and distribute early childhood dolls, doll carriers, doll outfits, and doll accessories inspired by Chicco for the U.S. and Canada.

Spin Master Celebrates Etch A Sketch Day

Spin Master celebrated Etch A Sketch Day on July 12, honoring the day the first Etch A Sketch was sold.
To celebrate, Spin Master encouraged fans to upload a video and #ShakeYourEtch. Each video was counted as a shake on the global shake counter hosted on Fans also celebrated in Times Square, from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M. where The Amazing Etch Man, Christoph Brown, showcased his artistic abilities.
Spin Master recently announced two new Etch A Sketch models, including the Etch A Sketch Freestyle, which features Boogie Board technology. It includes a stylus and double-sided stampers to add creative designs and doodles. The Etch A Sketch Joystick has one easy-to-use joystick that swivels 360 degrees and is ideal for younger artists. Both new models maintain the classic shake-to-erase feature.
Spin Master also released a free app, Etch A Sketch IT!, which is available for download on the Apple Store and Google Play. The app allows users to take and upload photos so they can be transformed into a retro Etch A Sketch line drawing, and promotes creativity by allowing users to create unique designs while using the classic white knobs. The Etch A Sketch Freestyle launched on Etch A Sketch Day, and Etch A Sketch Joystick will launch this fall.

Moose Toys Debuts New Exclusives at San Diego Comic-Con

Moose Toys will debut two exclusive items at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. The new Shoppie, Bubble Gum Pop, is designed specifically for Comic-Con and will be limited to 1,500 units, each of which will be individually numbered.
The doll is dressed in pink holographic with a collectable holographic boom box packaging. The limited-edition doll also includes two exclusive Shopkins in translucent finish with iridescent glitter and an exclusive retro cassette-tape VIP card. Read more…

eOne Cracks Down on Counterfeit Merchandise and Unlicensed Events for Peppa Pig and PJ Masks

Entertainment One Licensing (eOne) today outlined the stance it will take to reduce the global sale of counterfeit merchandise and unlicensed events for Peppa Pig and PJ Masks.
Beginning this year, eOne seized more than 250,000 counterfeit products globally via port seizures and market raids, and removed more than 50,000 infringing listings on more than 40 leading e-commerce platforms including Alibaba, Mercado Libre, and Amazon. eOne also enforced against social media platforms, removing more than 1,000 infringements across iTunes, GooglePlay, and YouTube. Additionally, several infringing stage shows and unlicensed events have been cancelled via legal action across the Latin American region. Read more…

Magformers Opens First Self-Operated Toy Store

Magformers opened its first company-owned toy store next to its headquarters in Canton, Michigan. Customers can play with and purchase hundreds of products across all four Magformers-owned product lines, including newly acquired Clicformers, Tile Blox, and Dolce. The Magformers Toy Store will have items available for purchase before they hit mass retailers for sale.

Moose Toys to Distribute Zimpli Kids Products in the U.S.

Moose Toys will begin to distribute the Zimpli Kids range throughout the U.S. Additionally, there will be expanded national TV coverage in the U.S. starting this month and lasting throughout the holiday season.
"We are thrilled to be working with Moose Toys, one of the largest toy manufacturers and distributors in the U.S. Moose are in a great place at the moment in the U.S so if you put together the current massive viral traction of the Zimpli Kids brands and the current Moose sales/marketing infrastructure, I have no doubt we are going to have a fantastic partnership," says Eejay Enyi, sales director at Zimpli Kids.

Toca Boca Launches Kids Product Line at Target

Toca Boca's first collection of consumer products for kids will be available exclusively at Target retail stores and online on July 17. The collection includes apparel, accessories, sleepwear, backpacks, lunch bags, bedding, and activity books.
Toca Boca worked with a core group of licensees to create this unique line of consumer products, including FABNY, The Foundery, Franco Manufacturing, and Random House Children's Books.

Walmart to Roll Out First Miffy Adventures Toy Line

Walmart is set to roll out an exclusive toy line based on Miffy’s Adventures: Big and Small, in stores and online this summer. The toy line is the first for the Miffy brand and will include the Miffy 3-inch Family Multipack, Miffy Little Red Plane, Miffy Little Blue Car, and 6-inch Miffy, Melanie, and Snuffy plush.
On August 1, Walmart will add to the Miffy toy line with feature plush, a Miffy house, and several Miffy figurines. Details on the new line, as well as more Miffy-related products will be announced next month.

Air Hogs Partners with World Championship Drone Pilot Luke Bannister

Spin Master Corp. added Luke Bannister to the Air Hogs roster of drone pilots. The partnership will see Bannister, known as BanniUK, support the RC brand's growing drone race portfolio through event appearances, advertising, and digital content. Read more…
