The Toy Insider Hosts Sweet Suite 2017

The Toy Insider’s Eighth Annual Sweet Suite event took place on July 12 at Pier Sixty in New York City. Known as The Biggest Night of Play, the premiere toy party of the year welcomed more than 250 digital influencers and more than 150 members of traditional media to connect with dozens of toy companies in advance of the holiday shopping season.

This year at Sweet Suite, influencers and the media enjoyed one-on-one time with representatives from more than 80 of the hottest kids’ brands and properties on the market, including VTech, LeapFrog, Just Play, Warner Bros. Mattel Launches Enchantimals

Mattel launched the Enchantimals franchise with 14 small dolls and three play sets. Enchantimals dolls are characters who share a special bond with their accompanying animal bestie. Each doll shares a ritual with her animal friend, celebrating their unique traits and personalities.
Core characters include Felicity Fox and Flick, Danessa Deer and Spirit, Sage Skunk and Caper, Bree Bunny and Twist, and Patter Peacock and Flap. Enchantimals products are meant to inspire stories of friendship, empathy, and compassion towards all living things. There will also be a variety of short-form YouTube content and a 60-minute televised special this fall.

ASTRA Manufacturers Donate Toys to Programs Serving Homeless Children in Philadelphia

Specialty toy manufacturers donated five truckloads of toys to nearly a dozen Bright Spaces sites in Philadelphia following the American Specialty Toy Retailing Association's (ASTRA) Marketplace & Academy trade show and conference in June.
The products went from the Pennsylvania Convention Center, where the show took place, to the intake center and several family shelters run by the Philadelphia Office of Homeless Services for use in Bright Spaces programs located in the shelters.
Bright Spaces programs housed in Philadelphia homeless shelters let kids play, families gather, and agency staff provide programming and services to families in need.

Epoch Everlasting Play Welcomes Vice President of Sales

Epoch Everlasting Play LLC (EEP), formerly known as International Playthings LLC, welcomes Mark Cohen as the company's vice president of North American Sales. Cohen will be responsible for sales team leadership and driving revenue for all brands within the company's portfolio of toys.
Cohen joins EEP with more than 30 years of experience in the toy industry. In his most recent role, he serves as the senior vice president of sales at Fisher-Price. He also held roles as the president of wholesale for KB Toys and as the vice president of sales and marketing for Playmobil.
