Funko is bringing caregiving to Pop! collectibles through a new Pops! With Purpose initiative.

The philanthropic mission connects Funko Pop! characters to causes that are important to the Funko community. Pops! With Purpose will debut through an auction at this year’s FunKon, which kicks off tomorrow through Friday. Each Pop! With Purpose figure sold will include a designated sticker and box art indicating that Funko has made a charitable donation to a partner organization.

This fall, Funko will introduce licensed products in collaboration with Rivet, an organization dedicated to supporting the impactful work youth are performing around the world. DC’s Yara Flor Future State, Nickelodeon’s Spongebob Squarepants, and Star Trek’s Spock Pops! will be dedicated to participating youth in the organization. The box art for each Pop! figure will feature a picture and description of Andrea Bautista Gomez, Avalon Jade Theisen, and Tony Weaver, respectively.

The existing Funko Cares Program (founded in 2018) will help kick off the initiative through its established partnerships and donations. For example, Funko has partnered with the It Gets Better Project for the second year in a row by releasing a Pops! With Purpose Pride collection. The collection featured a gradient, rainbow design on characters such as Disney’s Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Deadpool, Tina Belcher from Bob’s Burgers, Pixar’s Wall-E, and more.

Other organizations that have worked with Funko Cares — and will now carry over to the Pops! With Purpose initiative — include The Breast Cancer Research Foundation and Operation Homefront. Funko donations helped fund over 1,500 hours of research for the former foundation, while Funko employees have participated in the latter organization’s Back-to-School Brigade, helping support a nationwide school supply collection and distribution campaign.

Pops! With Purpose is slated to launch a Make-A-Wish Foundation product collaboration next year. To keep up with news about Funko’s Pops! With Purpose initiative, visit Funko’s Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter pages.
