For the third straight year, Hasbro Inc. was recognized as one of the U.S.’ most community-minded companies in The Civic 50, an annual initiative that identifies and recognizes companies for their commitment to improve the quality of life in the communities where they do business. The volunteer service-oriented Points of Light conducted the survey in partnership with Bloomberg LP.
All companies with $1 billion in revenue or more are invited to apply for The Civic 50, which recognized Hasbro as the No. 2 ranked company in the Best in Consumer Discretionary category.
During the 2014 holiday season, Hasbro expects to donate more than a half million toys and games to organizations benefiting children, valued at approximately $6 million. Through the company’s philanthropic programs, Hasbro employees in 33 different countries volunteer to help children in their communities. The Team Hasbro employee volunteer program, meanwhile, allows employees to take four hours of paid time off each month to volunteer with organizations benefiting children.
