Overwolf is getting into the game with an investment in Huge! Play.

The investment deal includes a partnership that will enable GameBud — the world’s first talking-animatronic game-connected character — to integrate directly into PC Games. The news comes following the successful launch of the GameBud Talking Tom that Huge! Play showed off at the Toy Insider‘s Holiday of Play last month.

“Our partnership with Overwolf means that we now have the ability to link GameBud with many of the world’s biggest PC games, and our new GameBud products can seamlessly integrate and react real-time to gameplay in a whole new ecosystem of beloved games,” says Kevin Mowrer, Co-CEO and founder of Huge! Play. “The opportunities are truly countless with GameBud products.”

GameBud products will roll out beginning next year using Overwolf’s all-in-one platform that creators can use to build, distribute, and monetize in-game apps and mods.

“GameBud adds a new element of fun to the gaming experience because it acts as a live shoutcaster and comments in real-time on your gaming,” says Overwolf CEO and Co-Founder, Uri Marchand. “It also supplies live gameplay support in the form of audio that can coach, give hints, and analyze your game. This only scratches the surface of what can be done with GameBud.”

Huge Play!’s GameBud Talking Tom was created in collaboration with Outfit7 and Epic Story Media and connects to mobile games, including Talking Tom Hero Dash and Talking Tom Gold Run. It’s available to preorder now with delivery expected before the holidays.
