Studio Ghibli is bringing a selection of its characters to Kappa Toys.

The Kappa Toys flagship store in Las Vegas’ Fashion Show Mall is offering an assortment of toys, plush, stationery, and housewares from the Studio Ghibli via Bandai collection.

The launch is being celebrated this weekend with a special event on Sunday, Dec. 11, in which shoppers can see a new window display featuring Totoro in a winter scene.

“We are excited to unlock a new facet of Kappa Toys for our fans to experience,” says Kappa Toys Founder Lizzy Newsome. “Bringing Japanese brands to the U.S. in an authentic way is an important part of our mission — this Totoro display is only the beginning!”

Customers attending the Studio Ghibli launch event this weekend can receive a free tote bag with a qualifying $50 purchase, while supplies last.

Kappa Toys is built on the concept of “play through design and emotion.” The specialty toy retailer currently operates two permanent locations in Las Vegas (Fashion Show Mall and Area15) and plans to expand into new markets next year.

Additionally, Kappa Toys and Tokidoki recently partnered for a Holiday Pop-Up Experience at Resorts World Las Vegas. The location is slated to remain open until Jan. 8, 2023.
