The new K’NEX Education sets are designed for small groups of students (between three and four kids), and bacsoon_logoteach concepts through problem solving, discovery, exploratory learning, and critical thinking. As kids build, they will have to use each other as a resource for investigating, discussing, and evaluating each scientific and design principle in action. These four new sets include: Simple Machines, Solar Energy, Wind and Water Energy, and Force and Motion.

Simple and Compound Machines – Offering hands-on learning the K’NEX Education Simple and Compound Machines Building Set is designed to expand upon middle school students’ knowledge of simple machines concepts. Students will be able to investigate, explore, and experiment with the K’NEX simple machine models as they analyze, synthesize, and evaluate information. The included teacher’s guide features student inquiry sheets and worksheets for the models highlighted, and asks questions and presents challenges that can be used to help students think more deeply about the concepts involved.  The set includes 332 K’NEX parts.

Investigating Solar Energy – The K’NEX Investigating Solar Energy Set includes a unique solar panel, solar motor, and capacitor for storing energy. Using K’NEX and the lessons provided in the included teacher’s guide offers students a program of study that uses hands-on exploration in conjunction with an inquiry-based approach to learning. Students work cooperatively as they build, investigate, discuss, and evaluate concepts, ideas, and designs. The set includes 128 K’NEX parts.

Exploring Wind and Water Energy– The K’NEX Education Exploring Wind and Water Energy Set is designed to address critical science, technology, and engineering concepts in the middle school classroom, and provide instructional models that enhance students’ understanding of these important concepts. Using K’NEX and the lessons provided in the included teacher’s guide offers students a program of study that uses hands-on exploration in conjunction with an engaging inquiry-based approach to learning. As students work cooperatively, they are encouraged to work together as they build, investigate, discuss and evaluate concepts, ideas, and designs. The set includes 288 K’NEX parts.

Force and Newton’s Laws – Designed for students to investigate a variety of concepts related to forces, energy, and motion, the K’NEX Forces and Newton’s Laws Building Set concepts are fashioned around rigorous STEM content and national standards. As students engage in the activities, they will be learning, practicing, and applying integrated process skills. The K’NEX Forces and Newton’s Law set expects students to craft fair test procedures, create meaningful data displays, make reasonable and data-supported reports, and analyze their collected data in light of the problem at hand. This set includes 115 K’NEX parts.
