At Brand Licensing Europe, Koko Rose Media and Licensing Works! inked a deal for Deer Little Forest, a property created by UK illustrator Jo Rose.
Under the agreement, Licensing Works! will develop the licensing and publishing strategies for the brand in North America, with a plan to launch Deer Little Forest at ABC Kids Expo in Las Vegas later this month.
Deer Little Forest is an arts and lifestyle brand featuring mischievous forest characters and nature-inspired designs. Intended to evolve into a “high-end brand,” Deer Little Forest is planned for expansion into toys, party goods, babywear, housewares, and more. A publishing program has already begun, with greeting cards; a picture book developed with Ingrid Selberg (former managing director at Simon & Schuster) and Margaret Hope (former art director at Random House, Simon & Schuster, and the BBC); several books developed with Japanese agent Honmoku Files; and an series of original baby book concepts.
Licensing Works! is known for establishing a retail presence in North America for brands, including The Little Prince, Zorro, Tarzan, and Moulin Rouge. The company’s roster also includes recent additions, such as The Snowman and Fun with Spot.
