unnamedWith so many superhero movies out lately, Lottie wanted to let girls know that they can also be superheroes, so Lottie dolls by Arklu held the Lottie Design a Superhero Outfit Competition–in partnership with the Brave Girls Alliance–to let young kids design a new superhero costume for its dolls.

The winner of the competition is 6-year-old Lily from Kirtland, Ohio. Lily’s Super Lottie design will come to life and will be manufactured and made commercially available this fall. The original artwork design, name, age, city, country, and superhero ability will be on the back of the outfit packaging. In addition, Lily will receive the full line of Lottie dolls and accessories.

For its contest, Lottie asked kids ages 10 and under throughout the world to create a superhero outfit for a Lottie doll. The participants’ designs consisted of drawings showing how the costumes should look, as well as what superpower the doll should have. This is the first time a crowd-sourced design by a child will go into commercial production.

Lottie dolls were designed to look and dress like a regular child with a childlike body shape and no make-up, jewelry, or high heels.
