Marvel Unveils World Merchandising Program for Guardians of the Galaxy Franchise

3255296 2Marvel unveiled a licensing program in support of its Guardians of the Galaxy franchise ahead of next year’s sequel. In anticipation of the new film and to help spark ongoing demand for all things Guardians, Marvel is unleashing an expanded merchandising program. The program will offer year-round support to the franchise for fans of all ages with focus on younger customers, ages 6-11. The merchandise rollout will include new toys, games, books, apparel, accessories, and more.

The products continued emphasis on the franchise’s ‘roots’ breakout character Groot, the tree-like extraterrestrial. Hasbro is on board with a range of action figures and role play products based on the new film. LEGO will add to the lineup with new construction sets. Marvel will also seek collectible and apparel/accessory partners to round out the program. Since music plays an important role in the new film, Marvel will integrate music into merchandise where applicable. Disney Publishing also signed with best-selling authors to bring middle-grade and young adult titles to the Marvel collection.
