It may not have the same flair as a visit to American Girl Place, but Amazon is now selling American Girl dolls.

A dedicated American Girl storefront opened at Amazon this week with a selection of Truly Me dolls, WellieWishers dolls, and an assortment of doll clothes, playsets, and accessories.

The Amazon offering is toplined by American Girl’s 2022 Girl of the Year doll, Corinne, and her sister Gwynn. The doll begins shipping from Amazon on December 12. The launch comes alongside the release of the latest American Girl series, Girl of the Year: Meet Corrine Tan on Amazon Prime Video. Amazon is the exclusive retailer for Corinne outside of American Girl stores.

Mattel’s famous 18-inch doll brand has typically only been available through American Girl retail stores and its own website. In 2016, the company did a deal with Toys “R” Us to open American Girl Truly Me boutiques in 100 stores, but those disappeared when the retailer closed. Since that time, American Girl’s more affordable, 14.5-inch WellieWishers line has occasionally been offered at Costco and other retailers.
