Monopoly Fans Vote to Remove Thimble Token

MonopolyThimbleMonopoly fans worldwide have spoken—the iconic Thimble token will be removed from the current Monopoly game.

After nearly a month of voting in the Monopoly Token Madness campaign, more than 4 million votes from fans around the world decided to remove the Thimble token from the game, which was originally added in 1935.

Hasbro held the Monopoly Token Madness Campaign from Jan. 10 through Jan. 31, and during that time, the Thimble token did not earn enough votes to make it into the top eight. Hasbro will reveal the final results of the vote on World Monopoly Day on Mar. 19, including other contenders such as a rubber duck, a TV, a T. rex, a Mr. M Emoji, a penguin, and more. The eight fan-picked Monopoly tokens will be updated in the Monopoly game hitting shelves this August.
