NPD Releases 2016 Holiday Purchases Report

95d4e4c4-b6ec-4949-b719-ead99d9fe6e5The NPD Group released findings from its 2016 Holiday Purchase Intentions report, which provides analysis to better understand consumers’ spending intentions for this holiday season.

Regarding toys purchases specifically, the study found that 41 percent of U.S. consumers plan to purchase toys as holiday gifts this year, up from 35 percent during the 2015 holiday season. According to NPD, this marks the third largest response, behind Clothing/Accessories and Entertainment. This is also one of the largest increases among supercategories, behind Tech/Electronics, Home, and Liquor/Wine.
