Two industry bigs are coming together again, with PlayMonster and Hasbro expanding their existing agreements to allow PlayMonster to add more of the Playskool brand to its portfolio next year.

“We are excited by the new ways in which PlayMonster is bringing forward the vision and values of the Playskool brand that still garners a universal fondness felt by parents, grandparents, and even great-grandparents,” says Jess Richardson, Vice President of Global Toys & Games Licensing at Hasbro. “This deal emphasizes a focus of our Blueprint 2.0 to offer new and innovative ways to play by aligning our iconic brands with proven industry-leading partners that value them.”

Playskool is a subsidiary company of Hasbro and a brand known for its educational toys targeting young children. Its most well-known offerings include the Potato Head brand, Glo Worm, and Busy Gears. Following the relaunch of the Glo Friends line last fall, PlayMonster has announced its intention to relaunch Weebles this fall. The re-release will include new playsets and figures of the classic toys, which Playskool first released in 1971.

“It is an honor and quite a lot of fun to expand our work on Playskool with Hasbro into new segments, more products, and increased global reach across a strong preschool portfolio of graduated ages and stages,” CEO of PlayMonster Steve Adolph says. “We look forward to sustained growth as we continue to bring quality, purposeful, and fun play to young families everywhere.”

PlayMonster will begin fully managing the Playskool portfolio in 2024, adding additional brands to the ones it already manages for the company. With this and the Weebles re-release, PlayMonster and Hasbro have clearly marked their intention to grow the partnership and expand their mutual brands to more markets.
