RedwoodVentures named a new CEO to replace Gary King, who resigned from the company to accept a leadership position with a U.S.-based food company.

The maker of toy lines such as Smoothy Mushy, Lil’ Fishys, and GoGoGochas, appointed Rick Greenberg as King’s replacement. Greenberg is a toy industry executive with a broad range of experience, including CEO of Shelcore Toys, founder of Wompy’s World of Musical Play, and, most recently, as president of Carrera of America Inc. He serves on the board of directors of mifold, a portable car seat innovator, and Keeping Babies Safe, a national non-profit foundation dedicated to preventing injuries in unsafe sleep environments.

King will remain with the company through October for a smooth transition.

“I’m privileged to have this opportunity to join the excellent team at Redwood as the company is poised for a period of tremendous growth,” Greenberg says. “Our global retail partners are excited about our current and 2021 product lines and we’ll be unveiling several innovative concepts that will drive even more aggressive growth.”

RedwoodVentures recently celebrated its 10th anniversary and has multi-channel distribution in the U.S. as well as 64 countries worldwide.
