As part of Nuremberg’s ToyCity initiative, Spielwarenmesse eG launched a competition for a ToyCocktail to be served during its trade show. The competition took place on Dec. 5 and is now in its 14th year.

Nine inner-city bars were competed for the top spot, attempting to impress the jury of four experts with their creative concoctions. “Toyropa,” by Bar Europa, won the most amount of points and will be served at special events during  Spielwarenmesse from Jan. 31 through Feb. 4 and at nine participating bars around the city.

The jury members included three bar experts: Adriano Paulus and Andreas Till, both from Munich, Bernd Schäfer from Nuremberg, and Berlind Bernemann, senior sales managerof Spielwarenmesse eG. The cocktails were judged according to the official competition criteria defined by the German Barkeepers’ Union—based on flavor, appearance and aroma.

The winning ToyCocktail will be served at participating bars during the same time Spielwarenmesse will run, including Arvena Park Hotel, TREFF; Admiral Filmpalast – Skybar; Bar Europa; die rote Bar; Enchilada Nürnberg; Gasthaus Pillhofer; Gelbes Haus; PARKS; and Zwingerbar.

The ToyCocktail competition is part of Spielwarenmesse’s ToyCity initiatives, with tries to bring the “Spirit of Play” to the city.
