While plans are tenuous for in-person events this year, Spielwarenmesse is already looking forward to next year’s trade show.

The international trade organization is launching Spielwarenmesse Digital, a platform that will coincide with next year’s in-person toy show, taking place from Feb. 2-6, 2022. Spielwarenmesse Digital will offer product showcases, year-round company presentations, networking opportunities, and seminars for manufacturers, retailers, and buyers. Attendees who are unable to attend Spielwarenmesse in person will have access to the platform.

For the first time, exhibitors can choose from three digital packages — smart, connected, and premium — to build a virtual profile either on its own or in addition to its in-person booth. All options include a presentation of the company, its products, and licenses, and the ability to connect with attendees. The smart package is already included in the marketing package for exhibitors appearing at the physical trade show in Nuremberg. The connect and premium packages offer the option to upload press releases and for the company to participate in workshops and seminars. The premium package gives companies the option to showcase up to 50 products. The integral lead tracking feature enables exhibitors that book a digital package to see who has visited their profile. Additional services can be reserved for all three packages on request.

“Our digital platform creates completely new opportunities for all market players and allows the Spielwarenmesse to be experienced 365 days a year,” says Ernst Kick, CEO of Spielwarenmesse eG. “Spielwarenmesse Digital allows companies to uniquely bolster their presence at the trade fair, whilst adding a completely new dimension for retailers and buyers visiting the physical exhibition. We’re delighted to offer this pioneering service as a valuable complement to our all-important live event.”

Companies can sign up for Spielwarenmesse Digital starting on March 1.

This virtual platform is a follow-up to Spielwarenmesse’s BrandNew, which took place from Jan. 25-29 as a virtual toy preview event during what would have been this year’s event in-person. Plans are still set for Spielwarenmesse’s summer edition, which is taking place from July 20-24.
