The Step2 Company LLC has named Robert Jourdian as its new vice president of research and development. Jourdian comes to Step2 with more than 30 years of product design experience, 25 of which were spent at the senior product design level at Fisher-Price Inc., a division of Mattel Inc.
As Step2’s vice president of research and development, Jourdian will lead the development and implementation of corporate-wide research and development. He will manage all facets of the product development process, including market data gathering, concept ideation, line review, and commercialization.
Jourdian spent the past 13 years as director of product design for categories ranging from preschool to creative learning and various Fisher-Price exclusives. During his time as director of product design, he and his team were in charge of designing products that encouraged children to grow with the Fisher-Price brand and transition to Mattel with age, and to develop successful partnerships through licensing.
