From April 16 to 18, ABC Kids Expo is hosting the first North American Pavilion at the Children-Baby-Maternity Expo (CBME SEA) in Singapore. ABC has joined forces with the show organizer, UBM, to host the pavilion, which will feature exhibitors such as Baby K’tan, Bumkins, Itsy Bitsy Pantry, Kittrich, and Zoli.
Kids Preferred has acquired the toy license from Carter’s Inc. to develop branded plush, activity, and wood toys, puzzle, play gyms, plush rockers, and foot-to-floor scooters in the U.S. and Canada. The first items will arrive on shelves this fall. The companies will jointly develop products, which will match back to the seasonal collections of apparel and accessories.
Kids Preferred is showing the Spring 2015 collection at ABC Kids Expo Toy Fair in Las Vegas.
Pueri Elemental is expanding its plush bop toy collection with its new Eco-Bonk Real Hero Series. These latest boppers join the ranks of the Eco-Bonk Wildlife Series, and will include Soldier Ethan, Fireman Mason, and Doctor Sophia.
Suitable for ages 2 and up, Eco-Bonk boppers are fitted with a soft cover made from 100 percent recycled plastic, while their covers make them feel more like interactive plush toys. Each durable vinyl inflatable is non-phthalate-based, contains no traceable BPA, is kinder to the earth, and packaged in recycled materials.
All three will be featured in the Made in USA Showcase and available for purchase in the South Hall, Level 1, Booth 4121, at ABC Kids Expo on September 7 to 10.
Uncle Goose introduces Stack and Scare, a four-set collection of toy wooden blocks that recast the proverbial bedtime story villain as imaginative art. The set marks the first collaboration with Seattle-based Invisible Creature, the design and illustration studio known for album artwork on behalf of Foo Fighters, Nirvana, My Morning Jacket, Target stores, and Seattle’s Best Coffee.
Stack and Scare will be displayed in its entirety for the first time at the ABC Kids Expo, October 15 to 18 in Las Vegas. Uncle Goose’s traditional alphabet blocks feature non-toxic inks and are made from sustainable basswood sources from the U.S.
Kids in Distressed Situations (K.I.D.S), a global children’s charity, will receive a $75,000 donation from Larry Schur, president of All Baby & Child Corp., on behalf of the ABC Kids Expo. K.I.D.S President Denise Williams will accept the check at a ceremony at the Las Vegas Convention Center on October 16 at 10 a.m.
All Baby and Child Corporation (ABC), creators of the ABC Kids Expo, and the Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association (JPMA), the industry trade association dedicated to the safe selection and use of juvenile products, will remain independent and will not merge. However, the two non-profit trade organizations will continue their collaborative relationship, which has strengthened over the past two years. As part of this evolving relationship, the two organizations will continue to evaluate the ever-changing needs of the juvenile industry and how to best support all industry stakeholders.
ABC remains committed to ongoing funding of key industry strategic initiatives at least through March 2015, including the enhancement of more frequent communications to all industry stakeholders to increase consumer confidence in the juvenile products industry. Since discussions began early last year, the formation of a vibrant specialty retail trade group, Brixy, was launched and continues to be funded by ABC.
Additionally, JPMA achieved an important industry goal by establishing an office in Washington, D.C. to increase the effectiveness of advocacy efforts at federal and state levels in the best interests of manufacturers, retailers, and consumers. Ongoing initiatives included in the funding agreement include increasing the scope and effectiveness of safety standards, the JPMA Certification Program, and the value of membership with JPMA.
JPMA and ABC have had a collaborative relationship for many years and will continue to work hand-in-hand on a number of different industry matters. While the merger discussions will not continue, the ongoing evolution of the working relationship will remain in order to best support the manufacturer and retail communities.
