Ticket to Ride Offers In-App Purchase of Physical Games on Kindle Fire

Days of Wonder has released a new digital version of their award-winning game Ticket to Ride for Amazon’s Kindle Fire tablet. Days of Wonder’s updated app incorporates Amazon’s new Mobile Associates API for in-app purchasing of physical goods, providing customers a new kind of immersive retail experience where they can acquire the tabletop board game while playing the digital version, and have their purchase delivered directly to their doorstep. Days of Wonder brings together their top-rated sales in both physical and digital gaming for this five-star rated game that is a consistent seller in Amazon’s Toys & Games Store.

Exclusively on the Kindle Fire, customers can also purchase physical versions of Ticket to Ride and any of its numerous expansions, from directly within the app and have the corresponding physical game delivered straight to their homes. To celebrate the launch of this feature that ties the digital and cardboard versions of the game together, the Kindle version of Ticket to Ride even includes some new custom wooden score markers for the board game, that customers can purchase with a single tap from within the app.

Michael Janisch Offers Acoustic Jazz For Babies

Picture 4Musician Michael Janisch has produced an array of slow and acoustic musical covers as part of five albums called Jazz For Babies. In favor of real acoustic instruments performed by world class musicians, the albums are titled: The Saxophone Album, The Guitar Album, The Piano Album, The Trumpet Album, and The Vibraphone Album. The song lists on these albums are intended to appeal to every generation and cover a wide array of the classics, such as the Jackson 5′s “I’ll Be There,” played with a mix of double bass and grand piano. The Jungle Book Toy Line Launches in Key Global Territories

Amazon Continues to Grow Its Influence in the Toys Category

The toy industry was a big online winner during the last two weeks of November, which included Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Nearly 24 million consumers shopped online for toys during the time period, an 18 percent increase over the same time period last year, according to market share data released by Kantar Compete.

Amazon’s holiday performance suggests that manufacturers need to shift their focus from thinking of the online retailer as an emerging channel to one that could be an important revenue driver in the next few years. One in four consumers considered a toy product on Amazon.com during the start of the holiday season.

Amazon chart1ToysRUs.com appears to be the retailer most impacted by Amazon’s early toys category successes thus far. One in three Amazon toy shoppers also visit ToysRUs.com to shop for the same products. Both Walmart.com and Target.com are experiencing cross shopping rates about half the size.  [Read more...]

Pully Palz to Launch in 2013
