Sony’s PS4 20th Anniversary Edition Marks 20 Years Since Original PS Release

Sony Computer Entertainment PS4 ConsoleSony Computer Entertainment Inc. has announced the PlayStation 4 (PS4) 20th Anniversary Edition, which commemorates the 20th anniversary of the release of the original PlayStation (PS) on December 3, 1994.

The 20th Anniversary Edition will be limited to 12,300 units worldwide, and will be available in North America, Japan, and Europe. Both the console and included accessories will come in original gray, and will be packaged in a special commemorative box.

In the U.S., the PS4 20th Anniversary Edition will be available in very limited supply for pre-order via sony.store.com on December 6. Information on accessing the pre-order link will be viewable via the PlayStation Experience keynote presentation on December 6 at 10:00 a.m. PST via twitch.tv/PlayStation.

Imports Dragon Looking Forward to a Big Year for Caillou, Johnny Test Products

ImportsDragon.logoImports Dragon has partnered with DHX Media to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Caillou. The company has also received the master toy license from DHX Media to manufacture and distribute exclusive Johnny Test products.

For the remainder of this year and throughout next year, Imports Dragon and DHX will host birthday parties and events across North America to celebrate Caillou’s 25th anniversary. To date, Imports Dragon has released new Caillou product with specially designed packaging to mark the anniversary.

Imports Dragon will also be releasing Johnny Test licensed toys throughout next year. Fans will be able to collect up to 80 figures of their favorite characters, battle with Johnny Test-themed water blasters, and test their luck with a Johnny Test Shocking Figure, which doubles as a game.

Happy 45 Years, Sesame Street!

Sesame StreetThe Sesame Street neighborhood is celebrating the 45th anniversary of the television show today. Sesame Street is the longest running children’s television show in history and has won 159 Emmy Awards. Domestic and international versions of the show reach 156 million children worldwide in 150 countries.

Multiple celebrities have visited the show, including Michael Jackson, Beyoncé, and Ellen DeGeneres. First Lady Michelle Obama and One Direction are two of many guests to appear throughout Season 45.

 

The Very Hungry Caterpillar Crawls Its Way to StoryToys App

EC_LOGO_4c PrimaryStoryToys has signed a deal with The World of Eric Carle to publish a series of global apps. The three-year partnership will include the creation and development of children’s apps based on the characters created by Eric Carle.

StoryToys will launch the first app on March 20th, on The Very Hungry Caterpillar Day, as part of the celebration of the 45th anniversary of the children’s book. A year-long campaign will also kick off on this day in partnership with retailers, promotional partners, and key licensees worldwide. The anniversary will be supported with marketing campaigns, consumer promotions, and new product instructions.

Ghostbusters, one of the most successful film franchises of all time, will be celebrating its 30th  Anniversary next year. Sony Pictures Consumer Products (SPCP) will launch an all new program targeting the core fan base with products in categories such as apparel, toys, construction, collectibles, and publishing through partnerships. SPCP will participate in events and engage in new partnerships sure to excite fans new and old.

SPCP has partnered with pop culture art gallery, Gallery 1988 to create a traveling art show designed by top artists, which will include their interpretations of Ghostbusters over the last 30 years. Limited-edition screen prints and posters will be available during each stop of the tour, which will conclude at Comic-Con International in San Diego.

Some of the global toy, publishing, and apparel licensees supporting the anniversary are Mattel Inc., IDW Publishing, World Tech Toys, Quantum Mechanics, Factory Entertainment, Diamond Select and Medicom Toys, Mad Engine, Titan Figures, Uniqlo, Kientai, and BCI. Funko and Underground Toys will produce collectibles and novelty products.
