Funnybone Launches Specialty Toy and Game Line

FunnyboneFunnybone Toys has a new line of products for the specialty toy and games market that combines form, function, and minimalist design. Products in the line include Disruptus, which uses disruptive thinking to help users innovate by encouraging different ideas and approaches. Another product, Arazzles, lets players explore geometrical configurations. Each set features cards with one of five different patterns of slots that allow abstract building and design opportunities.

Funnybone’s Array is a colorful take on dominoes that utilizes multi-color cards. Special slice and splice rules allow players to use more cards in each turn. Spectrix is a fast-paced, colorful take on the classic game Rummy, in which the objective is to get rid of all the cards in one’s hand. Lastly, Cubu plays on visual illusions to confuse players as they try to follow number and color sequences. The game forces players to use both sides of their brain at the same time.

Funnybone Toys Announces New Card Sets

Three new sets of brainy card games with color–Array, Spectrix, and CUBU–by Funnybone Toys are currently being sold at museum stores, toy stores, and online sites. Created by Julien Sharp and her team, the card games are recommended for ages 8 and up.

The cards represent a link between 21st century designs and 19th century ink-paper mechanisms. The games can be found at the Metropolitan Museum of Art Store, the Phoenix Museum, San Diego Museum of Art, SF Moma, Denver Art Museum, The Smithsonian Institute, High Museum of Art, Art Institute of Chicago, Walker Art Center, Guggenheim Museum, Whitney Museum of American Art, Seattle Art Museum, and Madison Museum of Contemporary Art. The games can also be purchased at Marbles Brain Store chains and Daily Gourmet. For more purchase information, visit www.funnybonetoys.com.

Array Card Game Earns Mr. Dad Seal of Approval

Funnybone Toys won a Father’s Day 2012 Mr. Dad Seal of Approval and a Great Dad Recommends honor for its Array card game.

The Mr. Dad Seal of Approval and the Great Dad Recommends program recognize products and services that support their mission of giving men the resources, tools, and information they need to be great fathers.

Array, one of three Funnybone Toys card games, launched this year. It’s appropriate for ages 8 and up and retails for $14.99. Judges found the game to be fun and thought provoking, and its artwork visually stunning. Judges said Array’s simple rules allow for families to carry-on conversations while playing.  Array is a card game that prompts players to match colors like dominoes. But there’s a twist: players can split the color connections and start new color arrays to use more of their cards and win the game. Additional cards give players the winning advantage.
