USAopoly Releases Doctor Who Edition Yahtzee Game

Nov14.USAopolyA collector’s edition Yahtzee game based on the Dalek from the TV series, Doctor Who, hits shelves this fall. Produced by USAopoly under license from Hasbro, Inc. and BBC Worldwide North America, the special edition game allows fans to exterminate their enemies by rolling classic Yahtzee dice combinations such as a full house and large straight. It also includes a collectible Dalek dice shaker, custom dice that feature Doctor Who iconic items, a score pad, pencil, and instructions.

The Doctor Who Dalek Collector’s Edition game is available now at specialty retailers.

Sooty Heads to Australia, New Zealand Following BBC Worldwide Partnership

Oct7.SootyRedan Alchemy LLP has named BBC Worldwide as the official licensing and merchandise agent for the Sooty brand in Australia and New Zealand.

BBC Worldwide ANZ will represent Sooty across television, merchandise, theatrical, and digital rights, including distribution of the kids TV program The Sooty Show.

Sooty, the yellow bear that made his TV debut on the BBC’s Talent Night in the 1950’s, has recently been revived for a new generation of fans in the UK with The Sooty Show airing daily on CITV.

 

 

 

Rainbow Designs Granted Wibbly Pig License

BBC Worldwide has granted a master toy license for its preschool children’s brand Wibbly Pig to Rainbow Designs. Wibbly Pig is based on the books by Mick Inkpen and the television series adapted by Will Brenton.

Rainbow Designs will develop a line of products including Wibbly Pig wooden toys, plush, games, and puzzles, with the first set appearing in February. Subsequent sets are slated for summer 2011 and early 2012, with a possible expansion into the homeware category.

Teletubbies to be Made into Beanie Babies

Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa, and Po will soon hit store shelves in the form of Beanie Babies as a part of a new partnership between BBC Worldwide and Ty. The deal will transform the Teletubbies characters into six-inch Beanie Babies, which will be available in the UK and Ireland this fall/winter.

Teletubbies was created by Ragdoll Productions for BBC, and has aired in more than 120 countries. The brand has sold more than 33 million DVDs and videos and 50 million plush toys.
