Warner Bros. Consumer Products (WBCP) will be at Comic-Con International: San Diego in support of its licensed toy partners, which will feature exclusive products ranging from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice to DC Super Hero Girls, to Scooby-Doo, and more.
Here at The Toy Book, we constantly find ourselves staring at the unfolding future of toys. In the case of action figures, the future always seems to be on bigger, sleeker, and more—whether that pertains to more points of articulation, more swappable accessories, more high-tech bells and whistles, etc.
Bif Bang Pow! is partnering with Warner Bros. Consumer Products and Warner Bros. Animation (WBA) to release a collection of action figures from the upcoming animated comedy series, Mike Tyson Mysteries, which will premiere this fall. The collection includes a Mike Tyson Mysteries Mike Tyson with Boxing Gloves 8-Inch Action Figure, a convention exclusive for Comic-Con International: San Diego.
This venture between Bif Bang Pow! and Warner Bros. builds upon the companies’ existing partnership for products based on the TV series, The Big Bang Theory. The Mike Tyson Mysteries line will be available to order at Entertainment Earth.
Both collections from Bif Bang Pow! will feature an array of articulated retro action figures, which will stand eight inches tall in episode-specific fabric clothing, as well as bobble heads. Various Battlestar Galactica-themed and Six Million Dollar Man-themed collectibles—such as license plate frames, tin boxes, coasters, snow globes, and glassware—will be produced as well. The new action figures will continue a partnership with EMCE Toys, the team responsible for bringing the classic style back.
Hallmark will release a lineup of Christmas 2010 ornaments based on the Star Trek property, including Captain Kirk, Spock, Kirk vs. Spock/“Amok Time,” and the U.S.S. Enterprise from the 2009 movie. Hallmark is also giving a sneak peak at its holiday 2011 prototypes.
IDW‘s lineup of new graphic novels and comic books will include those based on Star Trek, while Rocket World has announced the release of limited-edition Starfleet I.W.G. figurines that feature Original Series accessories. Rubie’s will release a new series of The Original Series, The Next Generation, and Star Trek costumes including a Gorn mask and Spock romper, and to promote its Starfleet Academy young adult books, due out in December, Simon and Schuster is handing out postcards for advanced reader copies.
In Twilight Zone news, Bif Bang Pow revealed four new eight-inch action figures depicting the Gremlin, Masked Man, Kanamit, and Devil. Eight more bobble heads and figurines are expected to be announced later during Comic-Con.
