Licensing agency Brandberry has signed Worx Toys as its master toy partner. They will be focusing efforts on a book and plush program that introduces the characters from the Poopeez brand, which is aimed at all ages.
“Developing a children’s property that engages kids, equally as much as adults, is no easy feat,” said Gene Khasminsky, the president of Worx Toys. “Children ages 3 to 6 find the subject of poop to be the funniest on the planet, while the tastefully crafted potty humor is equally as engaging for adults.”
Poopeez is inspired by bathroom humor, but its characters have humanistic qualities and unique personalities. Current Poopeez licensees include Bare Tree Media, which is launching virtual goods, and Alley Oop Toys as the novelty toys licensee.
Women in Toys (WIT), which recognizes and promotes the achievements of outstanding female leaders within the toy industry, recently underwent an organizational change and restructuring. Along with appointing Ashley Mady, president of Brandberry Inc., as its new board president, WIT’s other board appointments are as follows: Stephanie Barone, vice president of product development for Innovative Designs, as treasurer; Caitlin Gutekunst, senior manager, content acquisition and business development at LeapFrog, as regional chapter chair; Jennifer Quattrock, independent design contractor, as design chair; and Mali Baum, CEO of Beezeebee, as chair of international chapters.
WIT also has a new committee-based structure to support the organization’s goals and mission. These committees will focus on such topics as community involvement, empowerment initiatives, public relations, scholarships, and more.

On April 3, Zeenie Dollz will launch a new animated webisode series introducing its six “eco-warriors”: Zennia, Yana, Evee, Kazumi, Lina, and Sini. The webisodes add to the continued expansion of the brand and offer another educational tool for parents to teach children about both preserving the environment and the power of teamwork.
Created in collaboration with Brandberry, each webisode will be two to three minutes long and take the Zeenies on eco-themed adventures. “A New Addition” will be available both on the Zeenie Dollz website and their YouTube channel.
Brandberry has been picked as The Wiggles’ new licensing agent in North America. Brandberry will handle all licensing categories for the children’s entertainment group.
The Wiggles are featured on Sprout, as well as on the virtual world Wiggletime.com, and the group’s website, TheWiggles.com. Each year, The Wiggles release two new DVDs and CDs, embark on two North American concert tours that visit more than 70 cities, and are featured in Six Flags Theme Parks with five Wiggles World theme areas.
Next year will mark the 20th anniversary of The Wiggles.
