Hasbro CEO Brian Goldner to Become Chairman

Hasbro logoHasbro President and CEO Brian Goldner will become chairman on May 21, the date of the toy maker’s annual shareholder meeting, according to Hasbro this past Thursday. Goldner has been Hasbro’s president and CEO since 2008.

Chairman Al Verrecchia will step down in accordance with the company’s target retirement age of 72. Four other Hasbro directors will also retire from the board because they are close to retirement age: Frank Biondi Jr., John Connors Jr., Michael Garrett, and Jack Greenberg.

Hasbro has stated that current director Basil Anderson will become its lead independent director. The company is scheduled to report its fourth-quarter results tomorrow.

Hasbro and Disney Enter New Strategic Merchandising Relationship for Disney Princess and Frozen

DisneyPrincessesHasbro Inc. has entered a new strategic merchandising relationship with Disney Consumer Products for the Disney Princess and Frozen properties. The agreement gives Hasbro global rights, excluding Japan, to develop dolls based on Disney Princess stories and characters including Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, and Frozen beginning in 2016.

Hasbro Announces 2013 Investor Day Webcast

Hasbro logoHasbro has announced that it will webcast presentations from its Investor Day on September 10 starting at 10 a.m. EST. Among those presenting will be President and CEO Brian Goldner, CFO Deborah Thomas, and Chief Marketing Officer John Frascotti. Each presentation will be followed by a question-and-answer session.

The webcast will be available to investors and media on Hasbro’s Investor Relations home page at http://investor.hasbro.com. A replay of the webcast will be available approximately two hours following the event from the same address.
