Build-A-Bear Workshop has introduced a new collection of scented, make-your-own Sweet Hugs gifts. The Sweet Hugs Heart Bear, Sweet Hugs Swirl Bear, and Sweet Hugs Pup have candy-scented fur from Celessence Technologies, which uses touch to release a fragrance. Build-A-Bear Workshop Inc. and Spin Master Corp. have partnered to make, market, and distribute a line of craft activity products. Spin Master will also allow children to stuff their furry friends from home to introduce another dimension to the Build-A-Bear Workshop experience. The line will launch in multiple markets next fall with plans to rollout globally in 2017.
The Spin Master agreement comes on the heels of several outbound licensed product deals for Build-A-Bear Workshop signed in North America, including Clever Cookie iced and mini cookies; Chasing Fireflies premium children’s clothing and costumes; a Jakks Pacific Inc. co-branded MiWorld playset assortment, and more.
PercyVites has partnered with Build-A-Bear Workshop for its platform to be available on the Build-A-Bear website. Build-A-Bear is re-launching its Build-A-Party reservation system that allows guests to book private parties inside Build-A-Bear workshop stores and will allow users to access PercyVites personalized digital offerings. Build-A-Bear Workshop Inc. celebrated National Teddy Bear Day today by ringing the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). The bell ringing comes on the heels of the recent Build-A-Bear Workshop store design and brand refresh at the company’s flagship store at Mall of America in Bloomington, Minn.
In attendance at the bell ringing were Sharon Price John, chief executive officer of Build-A-Bear Workshop, and members of her executive team.
On July 1, Build-A-Bear will be moving into a new location in the iconic Empire State Building. The opening comes just a few weeks after the company launched another store inside Toys “R” Us at Times Square.
The new stores represent an effort by Build-A-Bear to provide the most engaging experiences for customers in New York City. The stores feature themed New York merchandise, including NYC T-shirts and hoodies, and numerous sports team outfits, such as the New York Yankees and Mets, Giants and Jets, and more.
The Boys and Girls Club of Madison Square will be on-hand for the ribbon-cutting.
