Delta Children has released its convertible Lightning McQueen bed from Disney’s Cars, which isn’t only just for bedtime. Under the hood there’s built-in storage space that converts to an oversized toy box once the twin bed is in place, and there are even working headlights and a steering wheel for added play and fun.
The best part is, not having to worry about your toddler outgrowing the bed. The crib mattress can easily be switched out for a twin mattress while still preserving the same cool, sleek look.

I attended Target’s Holiday Toy Preview on November 9, and had the great pleasure of meeting Soleil Moon Frye (Punky Brewster, Sabrina the Teenage Witch). She is Target’s Mommy Ambassador, and frankly, one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. Soleil has two daughters herself, and seemed to have a ball talking about her favorite toys for the holidays. Rocking a pair of comfy slipper socks, Soleil walked me through Target’s top holiday toy picks, and introduced me to the toys she chose as her personal top picks:
- Disney My First Princess Doll and Toddler Dress Gift Set
- Disney Cars Charge n Race Speedway
- LeapFrog LeapPad
- Barbie Hairtastic Printables
- Paper Jamz Pro Series Microphone
- Scrabble Flash

Disney Consumer Products (DCP) is set to release new product developments in each of its properties within the next year.
Disney Baby: Disney is investing in this property by creating a two-way dialogue with new moms on a digital platform, social media, product seeding and a loyalty program. The first Disney Baby concept store will open in fall 2012 at The Americana at Brand in Glendale, Calf.
Disney-Pixar Cars and Toy Story: The Cars franchise has generated global retail sales of more than $10 billion. Cars 2 retail merchandise began to roll out globally in mid-May and DCP will continue to support the franchise with a wide assortment of products next year. Cars Toons will be previewed before Cars 2 in movie theaters and will also be in heavy circulation on Disney Channel. Summer 2012 will mark the opening of “Cars Land,” a 12-acre stretch of new interactive entertainment development at Disney’s California Adventure. Toy Story will also be developed as Toy Story Toon along with Cars.
Mickey Mouse and Winnie The Pooh: One of Disney’s most popular characters, Mickey Mouse remains a top-selling franchise with projections set at $9 billion global retail sales for fiscal year 2011. Winnie The Pooh returns to the big screen in the U.S. next month with anticipated success due to positive sales from the European release earlier this year. The Winnie The Pooh: What’s A Bear To Do? Puzzle Book app has topped the sales charts for the iPhone and iPad in 12 countries.
Kids Wish Network, a 501 (c) 3 organization that serves children with life-threatening illnesses, is in desperate need of donations of dolls and toy cars. Despite the demand for high-tech gadgets, dolls and toy cars remain on the top of the list of the most desirable toys. Playing with a toy is a calming and relaxing activity for kids who are suffering from illnesses, distressed while dealing with harsh circumstances like homelessness, or trying to cope with other traumatic situations such as abuse.
Through its gift giving Holiday of Hope Gift Bank program, Kids Wish Network distributes thousands of dollars worth of toys and games directly to children within approximately 150 hospitals and child care facilities per year across the country; there are no middle men involved.
