Last year, Bunch O Balloons raised close to $1 million, thanks to a highly successful Kickstarter campaign. Now the product, already launched by Zuru Toys, will make its promotional debut with a guerrilla and experiential marketing campaign this spring. In addition, Bunch O Balloons is expected to receive widespread support across retailers in anticipation of summer.
Painting Lulu, a traditional coloring book that bridges the gap to the digital world, will officially launch in February at North American International Toy Fair, located at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.
Kids color in the Painting Lulu Activity Book, and then with the help of their parents, scan the page using the free Painting Lulu app on a smart device. The coloring page instantly appears on the device, and kids can continue coloring where they left off using the Painting Lulu Digital Crayon.
With a tap of the Digital Crayon, which is designed with a smooth touch and thick grip to fit in a child’s hand, kids can easily re-touch, save, and print their creations. The one-click share feature also makes it easy for kids to share their artwork with their parents.
Each 32-page Painting Lulu colouring book is made with 100 percent recycled paper, and the brand’s 10 different characters–including Milky, the milk carton; Toby, the plastic water bottle; and Max, the broken calculator–are intended to teach children about recycling while they color.
China-based Guangdong Alpha Animation and Culture Co. Ltd. has created Auldey Toys North America, which will launch its new headquarters in Boston, Mass. The Auldey Toys subsidiary comes as the company prepares for 2015, which will feature a focus on its established boys, R/C, and vehicles lines.
Auldey Toys will also launch its first North American preschool animation program, Super Wings, which will air next year.
Auldey Toys North America has appointed Adrian Roche as the company president. Joining Auldey Toys after eight years as vice president of brands at Mega Brands, and previously serving as vice president at The First Years (Tomy), Roche brings significant experience in the boys and preschool categories.
Auldey Toys North America has retained ChizComm Ltd. as its marketing agency.
Toy industry veteran Harold Chizick has launched ChizComm Ltd., a full-service marketing and communication agency dedicated to launching, marketing, and promoting products and entertainment for children. Chizick is the former vice president of marketing services for Spin Master, where he served for 14 years. The agency will provide strategic planning, product launches, communication strategy, and digital strategy, among other services.
