Classic Media Names Licensees for Guess with Jess

Classic Media announced preschool toy manufacturer Fisher-Price, home entertainment distributor Nelvana Enterprises’ Treehouse Presents, and The Licensing Shop, Inc. as anchors of the consumer products program for its new CGI-animated preschool television series, Guess with Jess.
Master toy partner Fisher-Price will debut the Guess with Jess line in Canada in fall 2011, Treehouse Presents will distribute Guess with Jess on DVD, and The Licensing Shop has been named licensing representative to oversee the brand in Canada.

She-Ra Celebrates 25th Anniversary With New Products

In honor of She-Ra‘s 25th anniversary, Classic Media has announced new DVDs and collectible products. Mattel will release commemorative collectibles on MattyCollector.com, including a She-Ra action figure. Additionally, the first season of She-Ra: Princess of Power (20 episodes) will be released on DVD, iTunes, and Hulu. A collector’s edition box set, She-Ra: The Complete Series 25th Anniversary Edition, featuring all 93 episodes will also be released and will include collectible stickers, episode guides, and an iron-on decal. She-Ra: Princess of Power was an animated series that began airing in September 1985.

Classic Media to Represent Voltron

World Events Productions (WEP) and Classic Media have announced the re-launch of the Voltron brand in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the original Voltron series, which first aired on television during the 1984-1985 television year. Effective immediately, Classic Media is to helm international distribution and worldwide merchandising and licensing for Voltron.
As the first step in reintroducing the Voltron brand to fans, an all-new animated television series is being created. The series, Voltron Force, is the first original franchise-related television content in 10 years and is scheduled to debut on Nicktoons in 2011, with WEP and Classic Media producing along with Hollywood production company Kickstart Productions (Wanted, Wolverine and the X-Men).

New Distribution Deals for Tinga Tinga Tales and Guess with Jess

Classic Media’s Tinga Tinga Tales, a co-production with Tiger Aspect Productions in association with HomeBoyz, launched on CBeebies in February and is set for its U.S. debut on Playhouse Disney next spring.
The animated preschool show, inspired by traditional African folktales and the Tinga Tinga art of Tanzania, has announced new international deals, including ABC (Australia), Rai (Italy), Mini Mini (Poland), YLE (Finland), ViaSat 1, Can Family (Ghana), True Visions (Thailand), RTE (Ireland), NRK (Norway), SVT (Sweden), TVB (Hong Kong), JCC Al Jazeera Children’s Channel (Middle East), Canal Panda (Portugal), and France TV (France).

Capcom Mobile Releases New “Where’s Waldo?” Mobile Game

Capcom Mobile and Classic Media are releasing Where’s Waldo? In Hollywood, the sequel to last year’s Where’s Waldo? mobile phone game.
In the game, players join the search for Waldo through a series of Hollywood-themed adventures. The mobile game features multiple search-and-find games based on scenes from the book series, and five mini games such as Tic-Whack-Wizard, Odd One Out, and Slide Puzzles. As the hunting progresses, players can unlock bonus content and earn in-game awards.

Walker Books Announces New Where’s Waldo Publishing Program

Classic Media has appointed The Walker Group, consisting of Walker Books UK, Candlewick Press, and Walker Books Australia, to create a new global publishing program for the popular Where’s Waldo? books.
This first-ever spin-off program for Where’s Waldo? will feature new material that will be released across a variety of formats. The new range, to debut in 2012 in honor of Waldo’s 25th birthday, will be designed to complement the original Where’s Waldo? collection, which was designed by Martin Handford.
