Commentary: Get the Party Started in The Croods: Prehistoric Party!

bat 0004 dvd o-sleeveThe Croods: Prehistoric Party!, inspired by the DreamWorks Animation animated film, The Croods, is now available for Wii U, Wii, Nintendo 3DS, and Nintendo DS.  The Croods premieres in North American theaters today.

A while back, I had the opportunity to check out The Croods: Prehistoric Party! at D3Publisher. Whether or not you’ve seen the movie, the Croods family is lovable and takes you on an adventure through dozens of mini-games. The game is fun for all ages and is great for family time or single play—the Wii U and Wii versions support up to four players.

D3Publisher Announces New Video Games for the Holiday Season

Rise of the Guardians

D3Publisher will release Rise of the Guardians for Wii U, Wii, Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo DS, and Xbox on November 20. Players can enjoy an action-packed video game based on the upcoming DreamWorks Animation film. Players can dive into the adventurous worlds of North, Tooth, Bunnymund, Sandman, and Jack Frost; unlock power-ups; and gain weapon upgrades while fighting the evil force in Tooth’s Palace, North’s Workshop, and Bunnymund’s Warren.

Ben 10: Omniverse

In partnership with Cartoon Network Enterprises, D3Publisher will release Ben 10: Omniverse, based on the TV series. The video game will be available for Wii U, Wii, Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Nintendo 3DS, and Nintendo DS. The game gives fans the option to play in single-player or two-player co-op mode for all of the platforms except Nintendo DS and Nintendo 3Ds. Players can dive into battle as Young Ben or Teen Ben in this E10+ game releasing this fall.

Top Hand Rodeo Tour

Also new is Top Hand Rodeo Tour, available exclusively for Kinect for Xbox 360. The game allows four players to enjoy the sport as professional cowboys competing on the rodeo circuit. This interactive experience includes bull riding competitions, tie-down roping, mounted shooting, team roping, and barrel racing. The game is rated E10+ and will be available for purchase this fall.

D3Publisher, Nickelodeon To Release New Games for Holiday Season

D3Publisher (D3P) and Nickelodeon have partnered for two new video games, Victorious: Taking the Lead for Nintendo DS and Wii, and Winx Club: Magical Fairy Party for Nintendo DS.  Both games will release this holiday season and give kids the chance to be the star in a school play or throw magical fairy parties with their favorite television characters.

Victorious: Taking the Lead

Victorious: Taking the Lead, based on the hit Nickelodeon television series, is an adventure and exploration game where fans can be Tori Vega and star in a Hollywood Arts production. Tori really wants the lead role in the upcoming school play and fans can help her get the part by successfully playing through a variety of fun mini-games that are tied to the show. Fans will receive an inside look into the Victorious world where they can fully interact with cast members like Jade and Beck and visit their favorite show locations. The Wii version (rated “E10+”) was developed by High Voltage Software, and the Nintendo DS version (rated “E10+”) was created by 1st Playable Productions.

Winx Club: Magical Fairy Party

Girls will embrace the magic within and discover their inner fairy in Winx Club: Magical Fairy Party, through the enchanting story and exciting mini-games filled with fairies, fashion, friendship, and pets that fans love. Fans can star in the game as their own fairy, interact with their favorite show characters and enroll in the enchanting Alfea School.  They will form new friendships, perform spells, and plan unforgettable events that include a wondrous ball! The game is based on a brand new Winx Club modern fantasy adventure television series that will take the fairies of Alfea School on magical experiences and showcase a new art style with CGI episodes releasing this fall. Developed by 1st Playable Productions, Inc., this game is rated “E” and releases on October 30.

Yogi Bear Stars in New Video Game, Movie

D3Publisher (D3P) has announced a worldwide licensing agreement with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment for Yogi Bear: The Video Game, to be released this holiday season for the Wii and Nintendo DS. The new video game will be released in conjunction with the theatrical release of Yogi Bear.

In Yogi Bear: The Video Game, players help Yogi Bear (voiced by Dan Akroyd who also stars as Yogi in the movie) save Jellystone Park from being shut down forever. Players can jump, crawl, belly slide, sneak, zip-line, and explore Jellystone Park as they search for wildlife, objects, and go on adventures. Yogi Bear’s sidekick Boo Boo also helps with difficult challenges.

Yogi Bear: The Video Game is under development by Monkey Bar Games.

Ceaco, D3 Publishing Named Licensing Partners for Despicable Me

Universal Partnerships & Licensing has signed on several new licensing partners for Universal Pictures’ and Illumination Entertainment’s inaugural 3-D CGI feature, Despicable Me. The movie is the studio’s first film from Chris Meledandri (Ice Age, Ice Age 2: The Meltdown, Horton Hears a Who!), who produces through his Universal-based family entertainment company, Illumination Entertainment.
