Dark Horse has created an adult coloring book program to launch on October 5. The series will debut with the coloring books, Avatar: The Last Airbender and Serenity. Each adult coloring book features 45 pages of original artwork created specifically to be colored in on thick, heavyweight 10- by 10-inch pages. The coloring book is filled with original black-and-white illustrations by artist Jed Henry and produced in collaboration with creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko.
On May 1st, comic book retailers across North America will give out over two million comic books free of charge, in celebration of the 9th annual Free Comic Book Day.
Comic books will suit everyone’s taste, from Toy Story, Shrek, and Sonic: the Hedgehog to Iron Man, Superman, and even Lady Gaga.
Publishers set to participate include Dark Horse Comics, DC Comics, IDW Publishing, Image Comics, and Marvel Comics. Along with the free books, comic book stores will host creator signings, special sales, and encourage customers to dress up as their favorite super hero or comic book character.
Dark Horse Deluxe, the product arm of Dark Horse Comics, will premiere an exclusive Domo Qee figure at the Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo (C2E2), held April 16-18.
The new two-inch figure features Domo in a Hawaiian-style print. Only 1,200 of the figures have been manufactured, and they will be available at the Dark Horse Comics booth on a first-come, first-served basis.
