Disney Interactive has released the schedule and details on its Disney Infinity Toy Box Summit, to be held at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, Calif., ahead of this year’s D23 Expo 2015. Through August 13, Toy Box Artists from around the world will gather for an in-depth exploration of the Disney Infinity 3.0 Edition Toy Box mode. Other events include an opportunity to meet the developers from Avalanche Software, a Toy Box building competition, and more.
The full schedule for both days is as follows:
At D23 Expo 2015 next month, Disney Interactive will showcase more Star Wars characters and play sets for Disney Infinity 3.0 Edition. Guests will have the chance to play Star Wars Twilight of the Republic, Star Wars Rise Against the Empire, and Disney•Pixar’s Inside Out, as well as the fully enhanced Toy Box mode.
The Disney Infinity 3.0 Edition Starter Pack from Disney Interactive, featuring the Star Wars Twilight of the Republic Play Set, will be available in North America on August 30. Fans who pre-order at participating retail stores will receive an early copy of the multiplayer Toy Box Expansion Game, Toy Box Takeover, which allows players to use all of their Disney Infinity characters across Star Wars, Marvel, Disney, and Disney•Pixar.
The Walt Disney Company is realigning two of its divisions, Disney Consumer Products and Disney Interactive. This past Tuesday started out innocently enough. We were monitoring the news out of Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) when the announcement broke: As part of an agreement between Disney Interactive, Lucasfilm, and Sony, this fall will see the arrival of a special version of the upcoming Disney Infinity 3.0. The limited-edition Star Wars Saga Starter Pack will offer fans the chance to play as Boba Fett, the popular bounty hunter from the Star Wars movies. It will also allow players access to a much-anticipated Disney Infinity Play Set one month before it arrives on shelves, and even more importantly—at least, for the purposes of this commentary—the deal is only available for Sony’s PlayStation system.
Today, at the Sony Computer Entertainment America Inc. E3 2015 press conference, Disney Interactive, Lucasfilm, and Sony announced that Boba Fett will be joining Disney Infinity 3.0 Edition as part of a new limited edition offering. The Star Wars Saga Starter Pack for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 will allow fans to play as Boba Fett in Disney Infinity 3.0 Edition through the holidays, and will also let them get the Star Wars Rise Against the Empire Play Set nearly a month before it arrives on store shelves.
