Domo Ghostbusters Co-Brand Comes to Life with New Partners

Domo.GhostbustersBig Tent Entertainment has lined up more partners to represent the pop-culture mash-up of Domo and Slimer. Underground Toys, Kelly Toy, and Funko will be releasing products portraying Domo as the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, Slimer, and a full-fledged Ghostbuster.

Underground Toys will create a line featuring plush, mugs, stickers, and more for department stores, specialty stores, stationery and gift stores, catalogs, and Internet retailers worldwide (excluding Asia). Kelly Toys will create multiple sizes of soft-sculptured toys for amusement parks and carnival and prize games in the U.S. and Canada.

Funko will be involved in a line of Domo/Ghostbusters-inspired pop vinyl figures for worldwide distribution (excluding Asia) at specialty stores, supermarkets, drug stores, catalogues, stationery and gift stores, online retailers, and mass market. [Read more...]

Big Tent Entertainment Develops Marketing Campaign for Komaneko

March12.KomanekoBig Tent Entertainment will launch a retail and marketing campaign with Domo creator Tsuneo Goda for Komaneko, a cartoon cat, based on the animated short film Komaneko: The First Step. Big Tent Entertainment will kick off the campaign with the launch of an eBook based on the original animated story.

The eBook will feature a Movie Maker tool, games, and puzzles in addition to helping develop reading, learning, and language skills. Kids will also be able to personalize the eBook with their own voice and picture. Komaneko will be part of the educational Kideo eTales series and will be available on iTunes and Google Play in English, Malay, and Mandarin.

Big Tent Entertainment Inks New Deals

Big Tent Entertainment, a New York-based branded entertainment company, has signed a series of new licensing deals to bring Domo to fans wherever they may find themselves. Whether relaxing at home or having fun at an amusement park, fans will be able to interact with the viral Internet meme turned iconic brand in all new ways.

Domo plushMagnote will release new cube figures, novelty steel puzzles, craft wooden décor kits, and more.

Domo will also be hitting amusement parks throughout North America thanks to Kellytoy USA, who will produce a variety of fair prizes such as plush and plush hats.

Big Tent Entertainment, Horse Feathers Team Up to Bring Domo to the iPhone

Branded entertainment company Big Tent Entertainment has announced that Domo has now come to the iPhone for a new gaming adventure through a new partnership with Horse Feathers, in association with Playlithium.

A return to the popularized side scrolling genre that started the modern era of gaming, Domo The Journey lets players take on the role of Domo to race through five different zones and explore more than 25 levels of gameplay to rescue Tashanna, who has been kidnapped by the grouchy Hungry Bear. Dashing through the forest, dodging deadly saws, riding underground mine carts and traversing freezing Alps, the game will take Domo through visual landscapes and animation while dodging characters who stand in the way.

Available now, Domo The Journey is the latest digital offering giving fans a fresh way to interact with the character, following in his recent arrival on Xbox Live and PlayStation Home. On Xbox Live, Domo fans can purchase 17 different types of character-inspired clothing and three animated Domo props that interact with their online avatars. PlayStation Home gives users 13 animated Domo companions for subscribers’ avatars along with 15 different types of clothing including T-shirts and hats.

Plushland to Release Domo Plush Line

Big Tent Entertainment has signed a new licensing agreement with Plushland to bring viral sensation Domo to the world of sports. The long-term deal will see the launch of a line of branded plush featuring Domo decked out in college, MLB, and NHL team logos, as well as a number of destination slogans and sayings, including “I Love New York.” Beginning next spring, campus bookstores, specialty stores, and other sports merchandisers will feature the new Domo plush line, which includes fuzzy dice, cubes, balls, and pillows.

Dark Horse Deluxe Offers a Unique Take on the Good Luck Trolls

The Good Luck Troll was originally created in 1959 by Danish fisherman and woodcutter Thomas Dam. At various times since the early 1960s, Trolls have been a top-selling toy, building a seldom-achieved brand equity. Dam Things, which holds all rights to the works of Thomas Dam, is in the process of launching a complete slate of merchandise activities and products for the Good Luck Trolls. Dark Horse Comics has been granted the license for a collectibles program. The line will consist of 15 different trolls, some of which are rare, sold in mystery box assortments.

Dark Horse felt the Good Luck Troll would be a natural fit in the designer vinyl and specialty retail arena, and has created Trolls with unique variations of color and surface treatments. The product development was closely supervised by Dam Things and its brand manager Dannie Festa of Festa Entertainment, including a trip from Denmark to the West Coast prototyping facility to assess and approve the works in progress.

Domo Helps Raise Funds for Earthquake/Tsunami Victims in Japan

Big Tent Entertainment, the licensing agent for Japanese pop culture icon Domo, has enlisted the support of its partners to launch a charity initiative to help raise funds for the victims of last month’s devastating earthquake and tsunami in Japan. The company has teamed up with Fifth Sun to create two special designs featuring Domo and incorporating jewelry designer Udi Behr’s LOVE + PEACE + HOPE message. The designs will be featured on special-edition Domo merchandise with proceeds going to the Japan Society, an American nonprofit organization dedicated to the cultivation of a constructive, resonant and dynamic relationship between the people of the U.S. and Japan. One hundred percent of all funds contributed to the Japan’s Society’s Earthquake Relief Fund will be given to organizations that directly help victims from the March 11, 2011 earthquake and tsunami.

In addition to Fifth Sun’s participation, Domo licensees including Concept One, Hot Properties Merchandising, Music Skins, Coveroo, and Virtual Greats digital partners WeeMee and Meez have already come on board to support the effort. Each licensee will create special-edition Domo products featuring the LOVE + PEACE + HOPE designs.

Hawaiian Domo to Debut at C2E2

Dark Horse Deluxe, the product arm of Dark Horse Comics, will premiere an exclusive Domo Qee figure at the Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo (C2E2), held April 16-18.

The new two-inch figure features Domo in a Hawaiian-style print. Only 1,200 of the figures have been manufactured, and they will be available at the Dark Horse Comics booth on a first-come, first-served basis.
