Entertainment One Launches Peppa Pig Magazine, Expands U.S. Toy Program

PeppaPigMagEntertainment One Licensing (eOne Licensing) has partnered with Redan Publishing Inc. for a bi-monthly publication based on Peppa Pig. Fun To Learn Peppa Pig Magazine will launch this month at major retailers throughout the U.S., including Wal-Mart, Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million, and Kroger.

Based on the animated TV show airing daily on Nick Jr., Fun To Learn Peppa Pig Magazine, for children ages 2 to 7, showcases the adventurous and loveable little pig along with her brother George, Mummy Pig, and Daddy Pig. Every issue will feature 36 pages of Peppa-themed activities designed to reinforce early learning skills as well as fun and inventive crafts projects, puzzles, product giveaways, and more.

In addition, a host of new licensed products are slated to make their retail debut in the spring. Better Toyz will offer a range of licensed sporting goods, including ball pits and tents, play balls, skates, scooters, kiddie pools, and skateboards. Fiesta Toys will produce an assortment of Peppa Pig plush and toys for the amusement park channel, from plush novelty hats and peek-a-boo pillows to Rolley bags and backpacks.

Jazwares Signs On for Peppa Pig, Flick-To-Stick Bungees

peppa_pigJazwares Inc. has entered a pair of licensing partnerships, including one for the top-ranked program on Nick Jr. for kids ages 2 to 5.

Thanks to a deal with Entertainment One Licensing, the company will serve as the new master toy partner for Peppa Pig. Jazwares will produce products for preschoolers across multiple categories, including plush, plastic figures, dolls, play sets, role-play toys, musical and talking toys, toy vehicles, and bath toys. The first Peppa Pig toy collection is scheduled to launch in mass and specialty retailers nationwide in spring of next year.

Airing seven days a week on Nick Jr., Peppa Pig follows the adventures of Peppa, a loveable, exuberant little piggy who lives with her brother George, Mummy Pig, and Daddy Pig. Globally, the show airs in 180 countries around the world and is translated into 40 languages.

Jazwares is also launching Flick-To-Stick Bungees, a competitive strategy game featuring 96 collectible action figures. Players aim their Bungees at scoring targets and flick their fingers to compete, collect, and potentially win. The action figure line will be enhanced by a Bungee Battleground arena, disk launcher, playing cards, and scoring disks. Flick-To-Stick Bungees, originally created by Barcelona, Spain-based Magic Box Int., will debut this fall.

Geronimo Stilton Animated Series Coming to U.S.

TCG Partners with Entertainment One for Peppa Pig Puzzles and Activities

eOne.PeppaPigTCG has entered into a new licensing partnership with Entertainment One to manufacture, distribute, and market a new line of puzzles and activities featuring Peppa Pig in North America. The Peppa Pig puzzles and activities are expected to launch at mass-market, toy, drug, and online retailers in August.

The new product line, targeted to preschoolers, will include three 24-piece and three 48-piece jigsaw puzzles, and Magnetic Creations. Each puzzle and activity captures the essence of Peppa, the loveable star of the hit animated television show for preschoolers, Peppa Pig, which airs on Nick Jr. in the U.S.

Entertainment One has released The Adventures Of Scooter The Penguina new CG family-friendly DVD. The animated film tells the story of Scooter, a little bird from a lost colony of penguins known for their speed and strength. Scooter was abandoned before he hatched and was taken by a family of silver penguins who encourage his talents. Still, the little bird feels like he doesn’t belong. As his adventures unfold, Scooter learns lessons of love and self-worth and returns to save the day at his village.

Trooper and The Legend of The Golden Key

eOne has also released Trooper and The Legend of The Golden Key. Trooper is a Bloodhound that lives in a town with a mysterious legend about a golden key that could be worth $1 million. The film follows Trooper and his owner, 10-year-old Tommy, as they set out to find the key and run into unexpected danger.


Child’s Play Communications to Manage eOne’s PR Strategy

Child’s Play Communications has added the Toronto-based international sales, licensing, and merchandising business, Entertainment One (eOne) to its client roster.

Child’s Play will publicize eOne’s, Peppa Pig, the preschool franchise recently introduced in the U.S. The show involves Peppa, a loveable, exuberant little piggy, who lives with her little brother George, Mommy Pig, and Daddy Pig. Peppa’s favorite things include playing games, dressing up, days out, and jumping in muddy puddles.

Child’s Play Communications will also handle the public relations for Team Mom and Web Mom blogger programs, to generate awareness of the tv series and DVD, books, and toys for fall 2012.
