Build-A-Bear Workshop Inc. has launched its first-ever multimedia product line, Honey Girls. The three plush characters, which are available in stores and online, come to life through an interactive app featuring a story of friendship, songs, and music videos.
Roughly a week after its launch, Little Charmers: Sparkle Up has taken the No. 1 spot for downloaded iPad apps in the App Store on iTunes across the U.S. and Canada. The first app for the Little Charmers brand, Little Charmers: Sparkle Up is a free download for tablets and smartphones that will be available on Amazon and Google Play this month. So far, it has garnered more than 100,000 downloads in the U.S. and Canada.
Digiplush is a new toy, app, and entertainment company, featuring brands designed to enhance children’s play experience through physical toys and mobile apps for smartphones and tablets. Outfit7 Limited has signed a licensing agreement for its Talking Tom and Friends franchise with Toyze, an app store for 3-D-printed customizable game characters. Users will be able to customize Talking Tom and Friends characters into 3-D models, share their creations on social channels, and bring them to life as 3-D-printed toys.
Toyze offers two options to model and produce toys. First is the free app for 3-D customization: The company’s intuitive, in-app 3-D editor allows users to personalize characters in 3-D view, add accessories and attributes, play with poses and sizes, and build their collections. Once completed, users can share their creation via Facebook, Instagram, and email with friends and family.

Build-A-Bear Workshop Inc. has transformed its stores into Santa’s Workshops, is introducing eight reindeer, and will extend play beyond plush with the launch of an exclusive holiday app, Santa’s Merry Mission.
By visiting the company’s Team Santa site, children and guests can take a personality quiz to determine which of the eight reindeer is their favorite, and then follow steps to create their very own plush toy. Reindeer selections include Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, and Blitzen. A special medallion comes with each reindeer and unlocks fun features in the app, including a stable, outfits, games, and more.
Other features on the app include “Santa’s Merry Mission,” a new family Christmas story that tells the tale of how Santa partnered with Build-A-Bear Workshop this season; a sing-a-long to “Reindeer Bells” performed by Brandon Bassir, and more. The Santa’s Merry Mission app can also be downloaded for free on iTunes or Google Play.
The Angry Birds Transformers mobile game is now available on the Apple App Store, to be followed by the Android version on Google Play on October 30 and on Amazon on November 4. Also available is the Angry Birds Transformers Telepods product line from Hasbro, which allows players to teleport figures straight into the game and gain unique powers.
This new mash-up combines the Angry Birds world with the iconic Transformers franchise. With an edgy ’80s vibe, Angry Birds Transformers brings a humorous twist to the beloved Transformers characters. Angry Birds are disguised as robots in disguise when Eggspark plunges to Piggy Island changing the pigs and the eggs in its wake. The Autobirds and the Deceptihogs will have to join forces to prevent the rioting EggBots from wreaking havoc.
Developed in collaboration with Hasbro, the Angry Birds Transformers Telepods gaming platform will allow fans to teleport their favorite characters directly into the game, bridging the digital and the physical play experience. The toys change form, like the original Transformers.
The Kurio Xtreme tablet, from Techno Source, is the newest addition to the Kurio line of Android devices for kids. Due for release on October 1, the 7-inch Wi-Fi-enabled tablet features a sleek and thinner design, a faster processor, double internal memory, Bluetooth technology, and 24/7 customer support. It also introduces exclusive Kurio Motion gaming, the first body-controlled games on a tablet.
